Bungie reveals its process behind building new worlds and bringing them to life.
I hope they don't go to far with the mmo aspects...almost all mmos turn out bland and generic....but im hyped so my hopes are high on this being good
So excited, can't wait!
Love mmos, love fps, the two together is gonna make for a fantastic game.
It's probably gonna be too focused on social networking instead of an engaging campaign, like most games today. We don't want Playstation Home, we want to play a kick ass game.
Destiny looks very promising, but still I'm a bit afraid that i'll become just a vast open-world'ed, great looking & dull FPS - Lets just hope my words will show up as the truth in future, excluding worries ;)
This looks so awesome, but I hear that its gonna be mmo shooter or smth like that, its all good but they have to include good single player campaign in order to get my money,also I am not playing this on any of the consoles, this pc only title for me
I have incredibly high hopes for this game. The scope of it is wildly impressive, plus the entire feel of a sci-fi/fantasy hybrid is extremely exciting. And I'm glad they finally released details regarding the players race and class selection. Can't wait to see more.
@Bread_or_Decide It's GDC not E3. These panels are designed to illuminate some of the inner-workings of how games are made, and not necessarily gameplay-specific elements.
@Bread_or_Decide Well, I figure that it's a bit early. I bet we see something at E3. I also bet it's a while before the game even sees daylight. I'm excited for it, regardless, just as I was excited for Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.
Im not really buying into the hype that most people are, simply because I don't care for Bungie. They have made around 10 games... anyone ever heard of really any of them? Other than Halo and Myth. I think I'm the only person on earth that wasn't impressed by a single game in the Halo series. Maybe because I've been playing PC games long before Halo came out and there were already many games that did what Halo did. Sorry... Bungie still hasn't even established itself in my mind. Not to say I won't give the game a chance.
@wumpscutnut
I too played PC games long before Halo came out and can't see your point. You're saying that PC FPS games long before did what Halo did? Like perfecting FPS gameplay taylored to a gamepad? Which PC games did that?
Nothing in "Destiny" seems original. In the character design I see influences from Resistance, Halo, Planetside 2, Crysis 3, Killzone, Lost Planet, Timeshift, Vanquish, Warhammer 40K...
@monowasp I wholeheartedly diagree. When those first few pictures were leaked, I was taken aback completely by the style. It was almost Miyazaki-esque in its mysticism, the perfect meld between high-fantasy and sci-fi, which they describe in this video as exactly the feel they were going for. If you want to point out a few titles that manage to fit that aesthetic, be my guest.
@MiasmaRising I really like the Bungie team, but feel they could have gone in another direction, art wise. I am curious, what was so amazing with the things you have seen so far?
@monowasp "Influences"...
When you name almost every major franchise in gener you are bound to have a lack of "originality". The subject becomes original when it takes small elements from these things and adds them to their own, unique idea. I think you statement is kind of irrelevant.

Where's the news on Deus Ex: Human Defiance? There's a lot of somewhat pointless articles that either say a lot of nothing, a mention little. This is important, even if there really isn't much to mention.
that guys a doucher for making everyone get up sit closer to eachother.. they could see your ugly face just fine from where they are
I read the title as "A Whole New World" at first and I'm disappointed at the lack of Aladdin.
All this promises look like they could take a lot of effort, time and money to become the game they and we are dreaming of (well not me, I steer clear of MMO to this day). Hope the direction is talented enough and the suits to fuck off.
I guess it never rains in the home city, and there`s a full moon everyday. It must drive the inhabitants a bit nutty. Hope we can explore the `Traveller` and discover its secrets.
More of the same. I have Planetside 2 (which is more of the same itself and FREE). Why would I need this?
And no, I do not believe any promises they make till I actually see it. With only artwork right now, the actual game usually does not match up to what they actually say at this point of development.
@TheOnlyConan planetside 2 and this look so different I find it hard to even begin to image why you would think that. its GTA and skyrim, both good games, both open world, both huge scale, but so different in every other way
interesting. but it's funny that, despite the time, money and talent thrown at this creative design process, the outcome is totally derivative. i actually laughed when they revealed the "main concept postcard" with the tiger. if i'm honest it looked like everything else. why is this so unoriginal? is it because they spend too much time with "whiteboard arguments"? which just result in compromise and lowest common denominator? maybe they need a george lucas, ridley scott, pete jackson process when just one guy has the authority to rubber stamp ALL design decisions, which ultimately gets you to more interesting, bolder, and unique design.
@forbiddenmow I couldn't agree more. After all the talk about creating this and creating that they basically just meshed a bunch of already created content together.
Wow, I'm really impressed with Bungie. This game is going to give every MMO and RPG a run for it's money.
Looks cool but Bungie has always been better at lore than straight up storytelling so we'll see how this turns out. I hope they have evolved their storytelling to meet their lore concepts.
I hope it's really epic and true free world like when you're interring a planets atmosphere you are actually controlling that ship.
@jsande23 That would be awesome. But a game like that would take so long to develop, and need a very powerful engine as there would be so many differnet possibilities. And you know most devs have a deadline these days.
my fear is that since it's an MMO ike game, the stories won't be that strong.
@ivanmallia Their's no single hero so in that since your right but the back story is going to be huge and the storyline of the game is going to be based on what the millions of players shaping it on a daily bases. Basically its going to be awesome.
@game_more @ivanmallia I really hope so. I like a good MMO, but The first thing I look for in a game is story. And the best ones I have seen so far was in sing person games. In an online game you don't feel the story as much in a single player game and you are not the centre of it all.
But I have high hopes for this game. Fingers crossed.
