Route 65 refers to Interstate 65 which runs through Kentucky from KY/TN border near Nashville TN, up through Louisville, KY into Indiana..  The Mammoth Cave system is accessible from I65 in the town that is named appropriately enough, Cave City, not far from Bowling Green, KY.

LoL The editorial didn't even bother to review 3 of these games. Why should we care?

My quick summary of the finalists (based on never playing any of them):

Kentucky Route Zero - gorgeous style, weird story doesn't help it though, looks interesting

Little Inferno - tech demo-like, slightly more mindless than Hotline Miami, really the best idea they had for a full game? What is next, fish pond cleaner?

FTL - Brilliant idea for a rogue-like, complicated mechanics, however looks really boring

Hotline Miami - Violent and simple minded, forget about it, enough said.

Cart Life - sad, the closest thing we have to something we can actually relate to in real life.

I'd say Cart Life should win this one. What do you guys think?

@LE5LO  Play FTL and Hotline before say something... FTL is just amazing...

@charlesdao thanks, I may take a look at them both, particularly FTL, but Hotline I'd probably never be tempted to pay more for a dollar for, it looks nearly braindead, just revolving around twitching the mouse and keys around doorways with good timing...it doesn't look nearly as deep a thinking persons game as FTL ;)

@LE5LO @charlesdao Hotline is more than that, is like journey the music and everything just fit so well that make this experiencia amazing, play and see by yourself my friend!

Maybe I was just in the wrong mood, but I played the first act of Kentucky Route Zero and afterwards it just left me with that yucky feeling you get when you've woken up from a bad dream, kind of strange

There were a slew of indie games I enjoyed in 2012.Hell, I actually consider 2012 "Year of the Indie Game".

It looks like Hotline Miami will take it home though. I bought it off GOG a few months back, and I've really never played anything like it. I also dug up its soundtrack...it's pure awesome.
