Jess checks out a hugely popular meme that got started on one of the biggest games in the world; LEEROY JENKINS!!!
Honestly, one of the only ones I can actually stand. Probably because it rings pretty close to home with my gaming tenancies... I mean really, one of my favorite tactics in BF3 (I think it was BF3) was to run out into the middle of a crowd yelling, "I'm a distraction! I'm a distraction!" While my friends came in behind me and killed anyone whom I actually distracted... If only you got assists for that.
It was also in Mass Effect. Private Jenkins who dies charging in very early in the game at Eden Prime
Hey...... how did I end up on Jess' shoulder in that video?! RwlRwlRwlRwl!!! (Google translate: Hair smell good!!!) ;D

I cant decide whether Leeroy is a complete jerk or the coolest guy ever, maybe a bit of both.
omfg. This joke was staged originally. The fact that it got so popular, and revived here is a monument to weak sauce.
@Koozwad Well, first, she forgot to point out that this type of raid (or whatever the proper term for it is) spawns very rarely, so the whole clan planned to be there at the same time, they worked out a detailed battle plan, and were in the middle of going over the details while Leeroy was AFK. When he came back, he immediately ran inside, triggering the start of the event before everyone else was ready.
If the producers/editors are listening, you should know that it's important to EXPLAIN the meme if you're going to do a historical look like this one. The entire point of the Leeroy Jenkins thing is so underserved here that Koozwad (and I'm sure others) have no idea what's going on.
I've never played WOW, but I know enough about it to appreciate this video when it was new. I still laugh at it even now. First there is the non-sequitur of the moment where he shouts and sprints off. But then it only gets better for me as all the other guys stammer and have no idea what to do. The whole plan just falls apart. I love it.
It was also featured on an episode of Psych:
"Archaic unwanted news by annoying head tilt woman..." Wow, I thought she was rather cute!?!
that girls has never watched a viral video in her life....she's in the age group that says "teen mom is the best reality show around"
"....Long after WoW has faded into obscurity..."
Heh. That sounds too good to be true.
I'll always remember Leeroy Jenkins because I was playing a (lolret) paladin at the time. I never charged into a dungeon recklessly but I never lived down the time me and a friend came under attack on a boat while he was AFK and I did indeed bubble-hearth to my eternal shame.
Also that is a handsome murloc you've got there and Jess is kind of cute too.
The meme pops up all over the place, too! Remember waaaaay back at the start of Mass Effect 1? You're on a team with a couple of other guys and one of them promptly gets himself killed? Prvt. Jenkins.
So I guess "The cake is a lie" is next up?
Damn I think I'm losing my hearing. I only understood about evry 5th word she mutterred.
@Claus_DuBois You're wearing your headphones inside out! I admit, it does look pretty cool, but sometimes you have to take function over fashion.
@PinchySkree Well, the name of the feature is "Gaming Meme HISTORY." As for the so-called annoying head tilt, which I did not take notice of, it's unlikely you are being forced to watch (though I suppose not impossible).
Oh man I remember this all too well. My guild, when i was still playing, would always have someone that would replicate this move after we've wiped a few times due to sheer frustration to get everyone to laugh. While WOW has long since been dead to me I still laugh every time I see this. I have a feeling this will last for as long as raiding and MMO's are still popular.
Haha love that meme, so good plenty of times I've used that in bad situations, both in and outside of games! :P
I didnt know Leeroy was an actual human player that screwed up a raid :P
Kinda cool that he got famous this way! they even named an achievement after him lol :)
its funny that he even was in Dark Souls, Paladin Leeroy. The dude was even kind enough to help you to kill the Pinwheel boss.
Which later he prolly died in the tomb of giants (which is very easy to do) and came back as black panthom, kill him and you get the weapon Grant and shield Sanctus.
What about ''praise the sun'' is that a big meme? or ''lets have some jolly co operation''?
Pulling a Leeroy occasionally in Counter Strike is pretty funny. Especially when you get shot first xD
@shanethewolf gamespot editors fail in that regard. WoW is a lot about raiding in dungeons with party members.
tactics how to defeat the raid bosses are needed so a little preparation is needed in the form of a leader giving a pep talk and explaining the strategy needed.
In that example, Leeroy charged ahead and tried to kill the entire raid. he also pulled nearly all the monsters by going all around and that was a total TPK (wipe).
@Geogyf @shanethewolf You're totally right, I should have included the significance of raiding. Thanks for clearing it up!
@Keitha313 @tempertress @Geogyf @shanethewolf THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I TALK. WHO TOLD YOU??
Jessypoos, i'm not sure things are going to work out between us when your clingy, green ex boyfriend is still hanging around. That plus the 8,000 mile distance thing is potentially going to drive a wedge between us. tut!
I only watch these because of Jess. Just like I only watched Start/Select because of Jane Douglas.
If you don't know where these obvious memes came from, maybe you just shouldn't...cause they're dumb.
