Alex from XCAR joins Danny on a voyage to Mars where they blow up rocks, shoot fish and sympathise with the plight of the space man.
Particularly funny episode, love the dead body commentary.
I watch these constantly now. Thank you, great fun. I know it's obscure and rare, but I'd love to see Panzerfront on the PS1, and I assume it's on pc too. Fantastic old rts for console, seemed totally under the radar at the time.
Good show. These guys are hilarious. Best part "Yeah you know exactly what you need to do right now." [Gets inside drilling machine.] LOL
Alex from your Charity podcast, I loved that guy! I love a guy that is willing to put his lifesavings into a flash car
@wolvexrex @dannyodwyerPower Up by Gareth Johnson. The specific part Danny uses in the intro is from 1:09 to about 1:13.
Should have kept it as an FPS and not turned it into a crappy thrid person game lol..
Haha I remember owning my college friends on big LAN matches in my dorm room 11 or so years ago. Memories...
Yes! This game ruled. It was like my PS2s answer to Half-Life. ( Before Half-Life PS2 version! )
God the physics here are awesome; some new game suggestions are Lords of Thunder [1993] and Top Hunter [1994].
One of my favorite games ever. GeoMod was the first destructible environments I saw in action and was very impressive. Lengthy campaign, solid mechanics, immersive story, awesome level design, overall a great game.
Aww shit I remember being blown away by this game on PC back then. The destructable environments were so sick.
I have something to say before watching this most likely excellent random encounter. I don't give a piss about unicorn apocalypse and seeing it before EVERY video I watch on here is pissing me off! Not that you or anyone else seeing this can really change that.
Yeah i get ads and what they do for funding viseos and whatever, but I hate seeing the same damn internet commercials over and over and over and over and over. And why the hell do they ALL have to be 10x louder than the normal sounds! If we are going to get bombarded by ads, at least change it up for golly sakes.
aww good times, red faction was the game that motivated me into buying a ps2. such a great game.
Red Faction, the original, is a wonderful game. I enjoyed it a freaking lot, the multiplayer very much as well.
RF is a great example of the dev's WAY over thinking the sequal.... Red Faction 2 was abysmal. Terrible. Just plain awful and bad. The third one was alright, but I got bored at the last level as the story was just not very involved. And yeah skipped the fourth one cuz it look just plain terrible too.
What I wanted from a Red Faction sequal would've been: Playing as the same protagonist. Setting the next games so far into the future made me feel like "why did I get all invested into these characters if they're long dead in the next game?" Slightly better graphics, RF2 suffered the same problem and Deus Ex: IW and RE5. Went way over the top with the graphics and the story/gameplay suffered. And finally, a much longer game. RF2 was so short my jaw dropped when I got to the end of it (the one time I played it).
The best example I can think of for a great sequal is No One Lives Forever 2 (and Tron 2.0 since it basically uses the exact same engine). They added some things, made the graphics a bit better and made a really fun game overall. Too bad they screwed all that up with FEAR... the original is great and all, but FEAR 2 wasn't too good, and I'll probably continue to skip FEAR 3...
Anyway, glad to see this game is still getting some love, it was one of the first really great games I played on my original day one PS2. :)
@MadButtCracker I've been grey since I was a teenager. Just haven't cut it in a few weeks :P
It's okay, you make the rest of us not feel so bad for playing games too at our age/s, but at least you get paid for it.
Man I remember Red Faction and the whole destructable environment thing, that was a big deal at the time, not sure going 3rd person was a good thing
I rememeber playing this game like years after it's release and I've never had such a great experience despite the dated graphics.
lol at the video thou, he shot the guy in the training mode. That was funny!
This is one of the most memorable games I have played, it's a shame the sequels were a little disappointing.
