Pretty much the topic, i'm sure it's a fine and dandy expansion pack, but I don't care for espionage at all so just wondering if it's actually worth $30 or to just wait for one of Steam's sales.

imo, it's very much worth it, the extra civ's and deeper tech tree adds a lot

Easily worth it if you enjoy Civilization. A lot of the new Civilizations are fun (or at least seem fun) to play as. I have enjoyed 3 of the 4 I have played as so far (didn't really enjoy the Celts... stupid tree huggers lol). Religion is a lot better than it was in 4, and a lot more involved. Last game I loved using "Just War" to go conquer my enemies... well at least before modern times, after that I just used either navy... or nukes. That works too. Espionage is a lot less difficult than it was in 4 (no having to sneak guys in) but still provides good advantages. So yea, easily worth it.

Well I broke down and bought it, and yeah religion and espionage are both much better then they've been in pervious games.

It's on Steam for $50USD in Australia. What a crock. Totally not worth it. You can get good full games for that price.

Every new Civ game lately leaves out features and then they "add" them in later and charge you up the azz for it.

I've been playing Civ since Civ1 on DOS and thinks it's a great series, so I'm not hating this turn of events just for the hell of it.

While I love the game and am enjoying the expansion I am a little dissapointed in the leader choice as some seem just too similar as what was in the basic game....Maybe I haven't played enough to see the unit/trait differences just yet but some civs like Pacal/Montezuma seem too similar as does Russia/Austria...Is this possibly a new take on how civ 4 had 2 leaders for each civ?

Perhaps, I miss the two leader days.

Well since they're making so many civ's as DLC and what not maybe I'll finally get a Canada civ
