End up getting hit by nothing!?

Bit frustrating I keep getting hit on those narrow areas, it's like there must be a hidden wall or something? I have true it many times and there are no bullets or anything that could be damaging me.

Does this happen on the of or console versions? I had it on the xbox but gave the cobaole to my bro.
