Kevin VanOrd takes us back to the '50s to show us how the Russians almost ruled the world in his review for Singularity.
A shooter, huh. A good ol' shooter, that doesn't really have to have a story to fall on. Sure, it looks like fun. Shooter fun. I'd want to play it... if I didn't have anything better.
But between finishing Crysis 2, getting started on Deus Ex Human Revolution and later on tackling Skyrim, not to mention the recently out Crysis 3... won't have time or patience left for just shooting even more crap.
This game is just terrible.
First off, the textures are absolutely horrendous.
The enemy AI are laughable.
The pistol is worthless and your character melees like a twelve year old girl, so it suffices to say you're completely fucked when faced with multiple enemies and all you have is the pistol. You're destined to be mobbed and killed in two or three hits.
1 Like Perfect FPS game! Better than Dead Space. Similar to it and Doom or Quake. Amazing atmosphere and great controls.
Just got this for pretty cheap on PS3 but now I'm wishing I would have gotten it for PC. It's pretty fun but for some reason you NEED the precision of a mouse on this one.
I liked this game for the first few hours, but the extreme linearity grew tiresome. There are areas where you have almost no room to maneuver around, and enemies like those mutants that could teleport and reappear right next to you, killing you instantly. It's funny that Red Faction Guerilla ripped off alot of the time mechanics of Singularity.
I find this game interesting to play, though the graphics seem a lil bit outdated. But overall, is a fun to play, cheap game.
THis could be just what I'm looking for to get "my game on" going this weekend. The price is just right now too!
It does kinda look like bioshock, the hand powers, the health bars and extra packs to replenish it... who cares though, this looks awesome.
@dusdel why do you say it's better than Vanquish. I haven't played either of these yet but I've played the Vanquish demos and thought the gameplay was excellent. The story in Singularity sure looks better but I thought the shooting looked standard with added gimmicks. Just wondered what you reasoning was. :)

No it cant touch Bioshck, But it is a really fun game. it is a better game then Vanquish, wich i best in 6 hrs. (and,no i never beat games quickly)Back to Singularity, it hasagreat story mode and real cool mult-player, also Gamestop has it for $15 in PA. anway and its a game wellworth that.i would of paied $30 np if need be so for $15 it a great deal
This game is awesome. I was reluctant to buy it at first, but it was well worth the money. A little bioshock, and a little Call of Duty, with some Half Life in the mix. Its classic FPS fun. Only negative thing i have to say about it is that it's too short. I want to tear up russians for at least 4 more hours. haha
this game looks average in terms of grapics but seems to keep the emphisis on great gameplay and the multiplayer seems really enjpyable but maybe more modes even basic ones like capture the flag but looking forward to playing
I really like the look of this, I am playing the latest games right now but I also like the cheap pre-owned shooters that are maybe abit old and have been traded in like Timeshift, Fracture, Prey even the The Darkness too. Singularity looks similar in gameplay but in a good way, i'll give it a go if it goes down from its regular price of £39.99 as its now abit old in comparison with later titles.
love this game soo inderrated deserves more attention and sales! i can never find a game on multiplayer know one is buying why!!
Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the new autoplay feature? I find it frustrating that it starts loading another video as soon as one is finished.
