Get out of jail and hit the streets of New San Vanelona in this video review for Skate 2.
Why doesn't this have the 'good controls' emblem!? But the way it fades to white is disgusting... otherwise good game!
still love this game one of the best out there I own skate 1, 2 and 3, definitely think skate 2 is better though :)
HLOL That last jump. XD But did they improve the camera in this one? Because I only just played the Demo of the first game and, even though I liked it, the camera is bad. It is way too low and close to the skater, only to show off the action down there. Sure, it's important to have a good view of the details. But the closeness makes it hard to see what's coming up in front of your skater, and also because it's so low, you can't see heights. For example, because the camera is so low, you see the sides of the steps on stairs and it looks like it's flat. So I tried to skate up that and fell on my face. The camera should be more like head-height or perhaps shoulder-height so you have a good overall view. Very disappointing if it's not adjustable or different in any of the sequels.
What a horrible reviewer. Most of his criticisms are useless (e.g. the litter thing) and he missed a lot of more valid criticisms e.g. the dysfunctional and buggy video editor. * There is no option to turn off collisions online. Collisions are automatically turned off during freeskate challenges, but are on at any other time. * You CAN switch the camera view. * Controls for fliptricks are supposed to be difficult to master. Just like in real life. However, as someone who has mastered them, I can confirm they can be. It's not the game's fault, it's your fault if a trick you attempted doing came out wrong. It's just that you haven't developed the skills necessary to see what the fault is.
buy it, it's an excellent game that is REALLY fun. it's dropped in price and you might even be able to get it used for half off or better.
So the day after I bought skate 2 my PS3 decided to take a dump on me with skate 2 still inside it...I really hope the guys at Sony don't steal it when I sent it back in. Otherwise, this game is both insanely frustrating and fun at the same time, a weird feeling.
Pretty awesome! Just played it today... the whole getting off your board thing was a little whack to me though. Tricks and movements seem a heck of a lot smoother which is awesome. Better than the first skate of course, but not by much.
