Every now and again atlus comes out with an offbeat classic that has absolutely nothing to do with their main development group who does mostly strategy/rpg games(akin to Working Designs and their Spaz shooter game series). You wouldn't think a company who makes rpg's would do well with such a specialized genre as the, now dead, arcade shooter. The game definately has issues like slowdown and some control quirks here and there, but it doesn't take enough away from the experience to make you forget how unique it is and cool. Put it this way, its like Pilotwings meets Raystorm meets Ace Combat. Cool 3d open-space environments, enough weapons to keep things fun, and soem truelly wonderful fights against massive airships and squardron upon squadron of little pissant dogfighters. If you enjoy any one of the 3 games I just named then, odds are, you'll love this game as much as I do.
