What happens when you "sell" a store?

Stores like the Post Office and Bank "cost" a certain amount of Mabu to build. If you sell these buildings, I was wondering if the Mabu in them stay, or if they go away forever.

Right now I could really use a ton of Mabu to buy my newest stores, but it will take me a lot of money to buy new Mabu, and I was wondering if I could get rid of some of the older stores to help fuel the new ones.

Nothing happens when you sell a store. All it does is free up the Mabu that the building cost. Only penalty is that you have to wait the full build time when readding the store you just sold.
