- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 10 Hours or Less
- The Bottom Line:
- "Total letdown"
Graphics: The best thing about this game for sure is the graphics, there are some beautifull landscape and environments and the guns look cool. Some parts of the graphics arent so good though. Like all the enemies look the same and it isnt really deep.
Sound: The guns really sound great, but thats about all. The voice acting is horrible, and the little things that could fail eventually do. The sound of the environment sound really, really fake.
Gameplay: I didnt read any reviews before I bought this game, I just played the old ones and I really liked them. This game thought me to read reviews! I would never buy it if I knew gamespot disliked it so much. The gameplay is what makes this game so bad. It started off really good, and I thought hells yeah! I just bought a great game. The blood and gore really looked cool and I loved watching dozen of guys die at ones. But wow, that did change. Itīs really repetetive and plain boring. You kill each and every boss the same. And the missions are horrible. After one hour I thought "Damn, why the hell did I just buy this game?"
Lasting Appeal: The singleplayer campaign is short and even its short you have no reason to finish this game because its so boring, there is actually no replay value and the multyplayer is boring. To begin with, there are so few people playing this game online.
Conclusion: Stay away from this game! The only thing wrong about the gamespot review is that they give it too good score.

More dismemberment, less groin shots. More bugs, less lasting appeal.

Some games try really hard to do something cool, and you can see that, even appreciate it. SoF doesn't even manage that.

While soldier of fortune payback doesn't do the series any justice, it does provide a few hours of mindless fun.
