- Just Right

- 10 to 20 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Highly addictive"
Bought this game after my 5 year old wanted a kart game we could both play together. Its rated 7 but being Sega I figured that would be for difficulty rather than content.
What attracted this one to me was the novel twist of switching from road, water and air and back with the scenery changing around you as you play.
The levels are stunning although some can be quite difficult to make out the track due to the sheer detail of the backgrounds, particularly on multiplayer. Theres a good variety of tracks and the usual mirror modes, time attacks, etc etc. World Tour mode is a fun way of allowing you to unlock new characters and force you to play harder levels.
The characters themselves are nice and varied and the level up system allows you to unlock different driving modes which essentially means you can play your favourite character in a style that suits you once they are fully upgraded.
From an age point of view my 5 year old does find it quite difficult, particularly because the tracks and direction are not clear. There is a flight assist which is useful but to be honest you could do with a similar thing for the boat sections as well.
The only thing missing in my opinion is some sort of handicap system so I could make my experience harder to give the nipper a chance of beating me.
All in all though a fantastic game and I picked up the limited edition for just £25.
