Ok then, if you STILL can't accept something that 99% of us (including SEGA) say is the true Sonic 3, this argument is hopeless. I will let you believe what you believe, but you are pretty much alone.
You will just be in the super minority who can't accept what everyone else has.

Um this is the exact line that proves and the majority of the Sonic fan base right. "Planned to have been" doesn't what is. You could playing Turning Point to see how Operation Sea Lion was planned to have been. But the fact is that plan didn't succeed. Sonic 3 and Knuckles is a bonus game that shows what Sonic 3 was supposed to be. But at the end of the day the truest form of Sonic 3 is Sonic the Hedgehog 3 with its six zones.
Ok, i will try one last time, before i give up trying to convince you...
No, sonic 3 & knuckles IS the final product, not just some bonus that shows what could have been.
Since they released the planned game, they DID succeed, but by doing it in a different method: lock on instead of a single cart.
Since the planned game is exactly what s3&k is, the planned game IS the "what is" to use your wording.
But if you want to think otherwise, go right ahead, while the Vast majority (judging by every fansite, forum, and even lps on youtube, is about 90+%) says that S3&K is the real Sonic 3.

You're basically arguing semantics and only care about what we literally have rather than WHAT WE KNOW. What do you think is more important here?

Listen, I respect your opinion. But don't drag the rest of the fanbase along with when, especially when you are in the minority. It is getting a bit tiresome now. All you are doing is misinterpreting wording of Yuji Naka to suit your own argument.

Except i am not in the minority. If you look around, you will see that just about everyone agrees that s3&k is the real s3.

I agree, brick walls won't budge, so I say we go back to talking about wanting aditional stages as dlc, or wishing each game had two, or whatever we were talking about before.
I'll start: I wish they would give us Ice Cap, digital circuit, and something from I guess Secret rings as dlc to make up for their lack of the sonic 3 portion
