no sonic game couldve ever topped the older series. theres nothing better with sonic then goin extremely fast around loops and breaking tvs to get power ups, as well as collecting a ton of rings and playing in special stages!. im stoked for this and i hope it works out!

looks like they are going to start over and try to bring back the old genesis style of sonic...innnnnnnnteresting, definitely will stay tuned.

@Osnic yes it IS sonic. i was wrong. i was just a little scared to get hyped about a sonic game seeing as how his last few have been.

But everyone is wrong sometimes. But don't be so much....well....say that becaus you've been a fan since 1991, you don't have to know more about Sonic than anyone. I've been a fan sine I thinks it was the end of 2002, and I saw that it was the Sonic 1 logo. But yeah, you know what I mean.

I'm glad that they're going back to 2-D platforming. I wouldn't mind if it was 2.5-d truthfully

I do think what you can see of Sonic's outline inside the emblem looks slightly different and the way he's whizzing around makes me wonder if a lot of the game is going to be played as Super Sonic? The 'Sega' sound at the beginning makes me giddy. I know Sonic has always been promoted as a fast game, but the classics weren't really THAT fast. Their main attraction was the superb level design and I think that is what will make or break the game.

hate how they say built from the ground up but it's basically the same but oh well sonic games are always fun

I doubt it. It looks like the original image. remember sonics skinnier now so it may just look slightly different. you can see what looks like 2 spikes at the top. but you never know. it could be a new character...

the guy in the ring with wings doesn't really look like sonic, is it a new character?

hopefully this one will actually be good for once as it's been proved that sonic in 3D does not work very well
