In 2010, the adventure continues with Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1! Coming to Xbox Live, Playstation Network, and Wiiware this summer.
Finally... Yep, that about sums it.
finally another 2d sonic game! the sonic adventure games sucked!
omg omg omg... i can't say more... it's a dream coming true... long live 2D sonic games!!!
I really hope they change the running animation, and remove that dust.
i didnt grow up in the 90s but the first sonic game i played was sonic adventure 2 for the dreamcast and from then till now i still like sonic even through his bad games some good 3d sonic games were sonic adventure 1 and 2 and sonic heros and of course all the 2d sonic games.
Should be good. Sonic 2 on the Sega Genesis was my first game. That was a great Christmas morning.
Sonic 1 was my first video game too, but i can remember playing mario bros 3 as the first ever videogame i played, haha the good ole days of side scrollers before they destroyed Sonic's reputation.
Sonic was my first Video game! Cant wait!!
Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 wasnt bad for 3D Sonic game right ?
Looks so cool! I am so getting this!
classic (^-^)
Always been a fan... this one is going to be downloaded for sure!
This trailer had such potential but come on... You don't have Sonic blasting away at full speed when showing off the old ones and then switch to him out for a leisurely jog when showing how much better the new one is. Still going to buy it for sure. The speed thing just seemed weird.
hmm looks great just wish it wasnt a download game cuz i have no idea how to do that
My sega genesis just started crying becuase theres now no reason for me to play her for 2D sonic games..... :D YAAAAY!
Maybe Sonic and Mario 2d?
I'm buying.
Is it just me or is 3D Sonic lacking that sense of speed? He looks stiff.
Looks sick.
yea they look the same cuz nothing else works but 2 d old school sonic.
Anyone else notice that all the levels looked the same?
looks like a good one but its been so long since sonic 3 that its prob gonna be bad.
whew, they have the right idea about getting back to the old school roots. don't fix it if it aint broke. SEGA sort of blew their load with sonic in the early 90's with a ton of sequels and spin offs (sonic spinball?), and the dreamcast version has pretty terrible, this is great news for Sonic fans.
I hope Knuckles and Tails are still playable characters! Hopefully there's also a storyline for Shadow in there too. I doubt it, but I think it'd be fun!
Hellz yeah!!! Old School Sonic FTW!!! Super excited for this.
Thx Sega ^^
Sega please don't let us down.
There's no denying that you just can't beat classic gameplay.
you had me at sega. *tear
YEAH BABY! YEAH! Aah playing it on SEGA,goood times !!! ftw :D
looks great
i want now it looks amazing
sonic yay! im so excited for this game im going to break out my genesis :)
@1blackone Sonic is NOT running in his full speed in this trailer. Look at my last post with that Youtube video of the leaked gameplay, in some parts of it, you can see Sonic running at full speed.
I was sold from the moment I heard the old school "SEGA" thing
@ronmayne By the way, the second they ask for money to play the game is the exact moment where the consumer gets to complain/critique it. Subsequently, the second they release a trailer for a product that is vying for our money is when we can complain/critique it. That is all...
Its nice that they are going back to its old roots but...WHY ARE HIS LEGS MOVING SO SLOW?! Knowing them, they'll say something like "Well, in the 16bit-age, we originally had his legs moving in a blur because of graphical limitations. But now, we can fully render his running animation." But just because its old doesn't mean its broken. Its not only preposterous: just how "Sonic" can you be with a brisk jog; it looks stupid.
Great nostalgia!
this should be awesome...

@ronmayne: I don't even know why people can complain at all, for a downloadable game it's not bad, besides with fancy 3d graphics it's harder to concentrate, it looks better than sonic rush which had jaggedy visuals. 3D doesn't make a game look better.
This is what they needed to be doing the whole time, not all the Primary 3d garbage.
And let's hope there'll be good music too. Can't speed without that.
It's good to see you again my spiky blue friend.
I dont get it. Sega finaly gives fans wat they want, and ppl are still complaining about some dam graphics. SO WAT, if its not the old classic sonic, and its only 2 seconds of gameplay, why complain when they are givin us wat we want? Even sega said tht there is no pleasing these guys. They need to grow up.
idc what anyone eltse thinks, its gonna be good! probibly only be like 20$, downloadable to any system, it'll be fun.
why are you complaining about it not being sprite made? 3d acceleration is way better, smoother and more fun to play and the problem is that he is moving his legs fast but moving slow they need to put difficulty levels where you can control his speed his enemy smartness and their numbers btw sprites are too pixelated we are in the 2010 you can make 3d move like sprites and look like 3d right SEGA?
16 years later!!
long time no see
