I always wanted to learn him, I actually tried once but I gave up on him. I think my Xiba is good now so I'm going to pick yoshimitsu. Anyone knows some good techs or shenanigans with him? Anything is appreciated.

Ask Signia. He's pretty much the only English-speaking Yoshi player that matters(actual offline tourney player and all). He's on 8WR, naturally.

There are a handful of Yoshi players on XBL that are formidable, but in my experience most of them rely on character ignorance and have great difficulty against players that actually adapt.

Yoshi needs to be in close to do much of anything. I'd work on learning ways to safely advance on opponents. Spacing is your best friend. Once you're in close, he has A LOT of ways to mix up opponents. 6K is your best friend. Just the kick is safe on block (I think) and the fear of the following hit will keep your opponent from punishing it. You can go high, mid or throw in that situation. FC 3K is a fast low sweep that knocks down the opponent so you can run Yoshi's vicious oki game. 3B sets up a ****ton of damage. It also hits grounded. You'll need to learn to consistently do ear slicer a:B+K to really capitalize on damage after landing it though. Learn manji carve fist. Any time your opponent forces you into a crouch or you do a move that ends with you crouching, iMCF becomes a great interrupt tool that stuns on CH and gives you a free 3B. DGF B/DGF K is a good unreactable mixup you can use whenever you have your opponent spooked enough to not interrupt you as soon as you enter the stance. 8wr A+B is a good whiff punisher. His CE does insane damage raw. GI into CE is uninterruptable and unblockable. If you have the meter to burn, this does damn near half-life.

That's all I got. I have relatively little experience with this matchup. Everything I posted above is tech I see used against me a lot. When you get more familiar with Yoshi we should spar. I could use some practice with my undead pirate. We can also have more epic Xiba mirrors =)

I'm off all day tomorrow. HMU if you wanna run some matches.

I havent been playing too much lately but we should do some yoshi vs cervantes and some xiba mirrors. If I see you online I will send invite. Actually the last time I joined your lobby I couldn't play my connection was messing up and it disconnected me from xbox live.

Have you ever fought my friend Ronilo?

I can throw in one thing, start at least one round with 9A+B G. If it hits, you start the round with a free combo.

    Yoshi's best gap cloer is 66 B+K, A+B, K.

Or you can do what I do whenever I get him as Kilik/Edgemaster, and just do the 66B+K and Rainbow Drop while they stand there waiting to block the next hit.

I'm nowhere close to having anything of an understanding of Yoshi, the most I noticed was I kept on making the wrong choice against stance mixups. It was definitely fun to play against though. Play more SCV!

Idk man. I wish I'd seen this while the matches were still fresh in my mind. We should run some sets soon. I have a little time off. I'll be looking for you online.
