I just played the demo, and I'm totally blown away! It has to be some of the tightest controls in a TPS ever, weapons seems to be perfectly balanced(so far) and it's clearly very well written & directed. And it was a nice move to cast Nolan North as one of the main characters, he's at his best in roles like these. I've been steering away from shooters in recent years, but this one has me drooling like a sailor in a whorehouse. Only thing that has me slightly worried is the multiplayer. I would rather they focused on making a long SP campaign and skip the multiplayer all together.
tracking this title with antisipation
why is roger federer an art director ?
going to be gr8
look like alpha protocol just beter!

I have to admit I was getting kinda bored with gears and stuff like that, but this game just totally pulled me back in!
I am from Dubai, and i'm really disappointed not of the game, the game is awesome, but i'm pissed off that the retarded government is going to ban this game just like they did with; Call of Duty 4, Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV, God of War, Heavy Rain, Godfather 2, and a zillion other games... it's a hard life for gamers here but we have our connections to still get them ;)
at least it is not happening in new york like ever other game
this and future soldier are games on my list for next year cant wait
I am almost sure I get this game.
kinda weird seeing kasavin talking to a company he used to work for, i wish he came back :(
well, I've been to Dubai quite a few times and I've been up the Burj Khalifa (the worlds tallest building) and im quite excited to see how this game plays out because Dubai is by far my favorite place in the world, but what im worried about is every time I've been out there, there is so many brilliant architectural ideas that they are all being built at once, meaning that there is an awful lot of construction sites. Don't get me wrong, once completed it will look outstanding but I think there will be too many environments based around the same-old same-old construction sites, which can be seen in the trailer here.
Major props for choosing Dubai for the location! That fact alone makes me want to check it out. But I have my doubts if this game will actually be worth playing in the end.
Delta Force isn't Marines, it's Army. This game is going to be subpar at best. This interview shows how little this development team knows about creating something that players want.
dissingu@ maybe or there not done with the game yet and they will switch it later but yours is a better idea
This looks cool but there are to many other games on my list :/
Looks good. I like the gameplay and the fact that you dont falf to control the ai if you don't wont to. I also like how you can use the sand as a weapon and stairs.
I see how people are complaining about the characters not looking like everyday marines, but I can also understand how game producers probably just want to make a memorable character that you will love and want to see more of. Which sets up the second game.
Gears of War mod... I can't wait until the PS4 and whatever Xbox come out so we can get rid of Unreal3 it's been used to death now.
@ cod5386, I definitely agree with you about every spec-op, or action game for that matter, being based on some rough, chiseled White-American guy who's suppose to be quiet/mysterious, blah blah blah. Its a very tired story. It almost made me stop playing video games altogether. What's ironic is that the developers making these over the top games aren't even American. @ xerocalim, I think the most run of the mill combat perspective is the first person shooter. It just doesn't change. The is really no strong element the defies one FPS from the other, but that's just my opinion. One thing that has always mystified me is that they make a game like MW2, based on military ideas, but they can't even take cover like they teach you in the military (?) "Prone" crouch is not the only cover soldiers take in the military.
I'II be waiting this game its amaaaaaaazing:)
i am right with you Thrice, i am really tired of muscular american-only spec-ops teams. someone else's country is always the bad guy. most games play out that tried and true formula of American badasses killin everyone else. And research into military games must be stepped up. the look and feel of weapons in most games has been polished enough, but clothing, gear, and tactical issues need to be researched and put into the game. gettin 50 rounds to the chest and being able to survive by hiding for a bit is damn lame. Dubai is an excellent idea, but i dont know about all this stuff with sand having such a pivotal role in the overall game structure though. there are a lot of troubles in Dubai to capitalize on in a game- the near dissolution of Dubai's economy recently, the fact that Middle Eastern princes and people of power go there to participate in underground oil (and maybe weapons) dealings, and the simple fact it is right in the middle of the hotbed of fundamentalist conflict. all of those facts of Dubai make an interesting point to explore in a game. Maybe the whole sand thing helps with the excalation of problems (political, social, religious, etc.) in that area? PEACE EVERYONE. yall take it easy now.
I'm gonna love the idea of fighting in that setting, just cause it hasen't been done before and looks fresh and new. HOWEVER, combat looks so incredibly run of the mill, from watching that one scene, all he was doing was was waiting for new enemies to pop up and play whack-a-mole. I am of course just basing this review on that one fight scene 2:58 and will hold my hopes up for better gameplay when I play it. But I'm gonna have my doubts >
Looks interesting, I am going to keep an eye on this game.
greg? greg!!!!! i'm interested in spec ops now just because greg kasavin is working with it...
look's interesting, gonna keep an eye on it
@Thrice8: They lost their gear in the sand storm LOL!! But I agree with you about the fact the soldiers should have more realistic uniforms and stuff in all games!
has anybody notice the gun in the game looks like the m82 assualt rifle in kz2 look they also copied the green scope but im not hating on this game cuz it could be awesome
graphics and lighting look pretty good, pretty dramatic. also, a shooter set in dubai with delta force as the primary characters- GREAT ideas! HOWEVER, i am so SICK of the endless stream of shooters that reduce elite military forces to simple gung-ho red-white-and-blue-pissing rambo types. this is delta force, no? WHERE ARE THE HELMETS, extra mags, rapelling lines, first aid kits, etc.?! you're telling me one of (if not) THE most elite force on the planet goes on a rescue mission kitted out wearing only their cammies, a vest and a rifle?! DID YOU GUYS DO ANY RESEARCH WHATSOEVER?! from the looks of this game the answer is a resounding NO. please, please, please prove me wrong because this game has potential.
DUBAI is a beautiful city. Why did you turn into a living hell. P.S: I am from dubai
im buying it
The enemies weren't even trying to get behind cover!! I hope it doesn't turn out like that in the final game.
Damn i hope this is good, looks like a cross between gears of war and the old SOCOMs. This could be amazing.
I hope they really work on releases a 4-player coop in this game.
@ jar288: Yes and no. Same series, different game. Btw, I didn't know that Greg is working at 2K Games nowadays. Go Greg! Make a great game for us!
GO GREG!!!!!!!!!!
is this the same spec ops from ps1
Wow looks awesome
@MOTORHEAT, how could you say this game was a copy of socom. Thats like saying Modern Warfare is a copy of Bad Company. Or like saying Dragon Age is a copy of Oblivian. Shame on you SOCOM fanboy. GROWUP and try before you cry.
copy of socom
haha the story talk about u.s.a with u.a.e happen something with that wars and i think i finally usa is win and i love it this gome is so cool
I want games like the old Socom & Tom Clancy,Rainbow 6 Vegas type. Where you tell your guys to go ambush and sit back and enjoy the AI at its best. Then if need be mop up the rest of the bad guys. Hurry and develope this
big fan of 2k games as I also preordered mafia 2 but yea, as for this game the graphics looks pretty good but the gameplay reminds me too much of army of two and I dont really see anything new that theyre bringing here, but in any case I'll still give it a shot....
looks good, reminds me of gears of war and cod 6 mixed
The visuals are looking great, cant say much else.
I'd have to see more of the game controls before I can decide if this game is going to be something I'm interested in.
Terrible interviewing skills... but I'm actually anxious to see how this game will turn out. I have high hopes.
meh
seems better now n makes more sense cause wen i watch the trailer i was like wierd game but now it seems intresting
