This game had an absolutely amazing atmosphere. Just for that, it deserves an 8.5

The restoration mods have made this game even better or, to be more accurate, the game it was supposed to be as conceived by the original designers. George Lucas (LucasArts) should have allowed more freedom to Chris Avellone and co. even if that meant a delay. Thankfully, fans and modders have rescued much of what George cut mindlessly. George created Star Wars, but Bioware and Obsidian have done much greater work with their games in providing SW world and mythos with a deeper and philosophical context than the movies. In my opinion, I get more enjoyment at playing Kotor and Kotor 2 than watching the movies, which now have become shallow compared with the quality and intensity of the games.

If you want to play this game with the original content, search for "TSL Restored Content Mod v1.6" (+ Nar Shaddaa Fix). That mod is a masterpiece, they restored a lot of hidden and cutted content, and the result is the game as the developers really wanted it to be. Its really easy to install and its only 25mb. You won't regreat it. KOTOR rocks!

@stabby_mcgee As much as I would love to see Kreia return in the Old Republic, from what I understand about the SW lore you have to intentionally undergo special training to become a force ghost, like Obi Wan did. I could be wrong though, since Anakin did become a force ghost at the end of the original trilogy.

I hope Kreia returns in TOR as a Force ghost. It would be the ultimate irony for her to be forever a part of something that she hates. Maybe she'll think of it as the Force's way of punishing her.

@bayernfan - Cant blame Obsidian for the cut content, blame the tyrant that is George Lucas.

The dark atmosphere and choices are better than in Kotor 1 and the interaction with and between party members is more interesting. It is a shame that Obsidian cut so much content (even a good ending) for the sake of rushing this great game into the market.

@dorukster yeah, google and wait for "the TSLRP sith lords restoration project" it's a team of modders who have used all of the left over and unused script and dialogue in the pc game's code to actually fill in entire planets and properly finish the game's storyline once you know what kotor 2 SHOULD have been, kotor 1 starts looking a whole lot punier

Is there any chance in getting more intimate with Visas ? Kreia asked me about it and i thought it may be possible... it would be ... quite interesting ... Agree about the ending ... doesn't seem as an ending, unfinished...

My only complaint is the ending of this game. I wanted to at least get a chance to say bye and well done to my companions instead of flying off happily ever after. But still, a great game.

I don't know if others had the same impression as I had while playing it, but comparing it to the original KOTOR, this game felt a lot less linear... Also, the impact of your actions is clearly visible on each planet that you visit (not only on your party) you virtually shaping the destiny of each place. This wasn't that evident with Revan in the original KOTOR. I also adored the more dark atmosphere of the Sith Lords. Nevertheless, the ending (actually, the whole final act of the story) is such a big disappointment... So many pieces are still missing. It fails to give the story a proper feeling of closure; and that's a true pity as it's a GREAT story! While the twist in it is not as dramatic as the one in KOTOR, it surely seems more... deep, morally. I absolutely loved it! If you can put up with its slow initial progression and the open ending, you are in for one heck of a ride! Truly memorable!

dude this had like the most boring intro ever in a game, and i didnt know you could skip it, so i stopped playing it. this game does suck compared to KOTOR though. it would be cool if bioware made KOTOR 3. dont play this game though. it stinks
