Oooo, this is going a game that ever gamer is going to talk bout. I can't wait it to come out. Looks sweet!!! Choose your side.

Noooo! They lost Jeremy Soule! Which really isn't all that surprising considering he's got his hands full with Guild Wars 2. That said, I'm really excited to see what these new composers can bring to the old republic timeline. Soule's music is quite readily identifiable, so to have 5 new composers should bring in a lot of fresh sound. And for those of you who actually believe that the only music a Star Wars game can generate is that of the movies: you obviously haven't played KOTOR and you obviously don't know Bioware very well. I'd be surprised if they included anything more than the main titles theme.

As Yoda would say: The Music, spectacular, it shall be!

Ghazghkull_T 5 pts

itd be really cool if they got John Williams to compose the music. that wud really make the difference. lets see how it goes, music must be a really MAIN thing in swtor, as we all know Star Wars without its sountrack wudnt be Star Wars. cheers

ThiefX 5 pts

As the last composer said, I too think it will sound spectacular. I also think it's gonna LOOK spectacular, and BE - as a whole - spectacular. EPIC. To all KOTOR fans, salutations.

DaX_Factor 5 pts

WOW! When you watch this much effort go into only a portion of a game makes you wonder how some people wouldn't consider games a form of art.

MXVIII 19 pts

raahsnavj It has 5 hours of completely new music, on top of the original tracks.

Music is a huge part of mmo gaming

digimon360 5 pts

i don't care for music it helps but its not needed in fact they could play naruto music and i wouldn't care its all about the gameplay for me

KlepticGrooves 5 pts

I can see there being the same few songs repeated from the older games, but with slight alterations. Still going to be a good soundtrack though.

J0k3rf4c3 5 pts

I think they let the recognizable sounds of the standard songs return in the new music

raahsnavj 21 pts

It's star wars... you mean they are actually doing new music? or just another mix of the same 7 tired songs?

Johny_47 29 pts

I haven't been living under rocks or anything =/ but what kind of game will this be? Massive multplayer online or RPG? I love orchestral music and just hearing this I want to play it, the feel of it is just lovely, I wonder if they have John Williams giving them advise or insight about their music etc =)

DJ_Magneto 5 pts

@fzd88: True, but I've got to imagine that licensing isn't an issue in this case. This is Star Wars and LucasArts is the publisher. You can't make a Star Wars game without their backing. And this game is canon. The CGI trailers use actual music from the movies. And the opening for this game will absolutely be the iconic Star Wars fanfare. But of course for the actual game, they needed tons of new music to go along with the incredible amount of content.

Mc_Trickz 12 pts

This is what most of the games need, superb soundtracks like this one,Star War always had one of the best ost,John Williams is good damn...And these guys are doing great too

IKillowatt 5 pts

This pretty much shows what games are turning into now a days, epic pieces of art that you can play and be a part of. Very compelling. When does this game come out btw?

fett283 5 pts

This is great news! I'm glad that there is going to be original musical that is still Star Wars and sounds good and that is being made so that there is one compos per planet, and other composers than John Williams. (despite how much how I love his music) It'll be a refreshing and enjoyable experience by what I'm hearing here. Keep up the good work guys!

fzd88 5 pts

@DJ_Magneto Also don't forget licensing. This SW title is licensed as a game. Therefore, they can't directly use stuff from the movies (they can if they pay for it). Remember when both EA and Vivendi both made LOTR games at the same time? Except EA had the film rights, and Vivendi had the book rights. Thus, Vivendi's game can't have any similarities (in terms of music/design) to the films....even tho both are LOTR. It's all about money at the end of the day...EA paid for the more expensive license...

I have watched alot of gamespot video, but this is by far my favorite of all time. I will play this game purely for the soundtrack. Of course the fact that it is a star wars epic helps :)

RawDeal_basic 5 pts

I'm glad they're creating original music. All the Star Wars games have raped the original soundtrack so much, that when I watch the movies, I think of the games.

Nahchito 5 pts

WHERE THE HELL IS JOHN WILLIAMS!?!?

greenmatt77 6 pts

goosebumps. The composers captured the essense of the music of the movies without copying it. I thought it was brilliant.

jaydubbs19 5 pts

Most of the music sounds really good. But I don't know. Some of it just doesn't sound like Star Wars muisc. It doesn't seem to have that romantic quality of John Williams music. Maybe they should listen to some of Williams' influences like Holst or Wagner for inspiration.

DJ_Magneto 5 pts

@tannertehpianis: Of course the ideal situation would have Williams score anything Star Wars related. I don't dispute that. One of the constants of anything Star Wars and that which leaves the longest lasting impression on people is the music. I went to see Star Wars in concert, and that was a great experience.

tannertehpianis 5 pts

@DJ_Magneto: You're right; realistically, they probably couldn't have gotten him. Ideally, though, Williams would be perfect for the game's score.

hvypetals 5 pts

Hey lucas arts - how about you make the next gen "xwing - tie fighter" already? Stop releasing monkey island and your old garbage side scrollers from 1988 and give us fans what we want? Whatsa matta U?

DJ_Magneto 5 pts

@tannertehpianis: There are 5 composers. Each of which coming at a reasonable rate, I'm sure. Can you imagine what it would have cost to pay legendary composer John Williams to do this and the sheer amount of content would have been necessary for one man to produce? Plus, I'm sure he's working on other projects.

tannertehpianis 5 pts

instead of trying to copy john williams's music...why didn't they just hire john williams?

angeloti83 5 pts

This is going to be one of, if not the, greatest MMO ever.....as long as they stick to what they are doing..... This is going to be amazing, and the only MMO I am interested in.

This is the next Level in Gaming. Awesome.

fzd88 5 pts

man, sounds expensive to produce. btw, that guy in the green and glasses sounds like he doesn't like working w/ other composers....the way he pronounces "i" gives it away. lol All the other composers seem cool tho.

Music sounds good. My only worry is Star Wars (orig) was an adult movie, kids could enjoy. And current star wars movies and games look to be kids movies, adults could enjoy. I hear the awesome music, see the wonderful and mature CGI movies... and then look at the kiddy Wii look like in game cartoon characters and think, they totally ruin the mature setting.

ertai222 5 pts

I can't wait for this game, i guess WoW will have to tie me over till it does

I thought Wu Tang and D.M.X and 50 cent was making the music for star wars.............

FUKIN BIOWARE+LUCAS ARTS........... i like it very much

Adam_the_Nerd 5 pts

They've really captured the Star Wars sound. I like that! "With our powers combined, we make John Williams!"

1997harley 5 pts

You know, all this is great, but what could they do with the 1,2,3,4,5, and 6 movies with this new technology...

Oozyrat 24 pts

I hope they do really well with the soundtrack (it sounds great from the video)! The only problem is that it's going to be hard to beat Red Dead Redemption's soundtrack. If you haven't played the game, definitely get it and the soundtrack. I can't wait for this game!
