How in the world do you defend against an anticipated cross up. As in your opponent is close to you and attacking you while you are blocking then he just jumps over you to cross up and break the block

is there even any freaking way to defend against this?

I believe you must then hold forward to block the cross-up. because the opponent is jumping behind you to attack your back, WHICH then becomes your face/front side now. so holding forward in this case is now holding back.

    hope that helps

yeah, since they're jumping over you, you just block the other way. It's easy to block most cross ups...the problems are the really ambiguous ones. You're on your own, then.

that sounds so simple and intiotive actually when you put it that way haha, but I guess it's also one of those simple things that requires lots of practice and timing

Not really all it takes is for you to block the opposite way. Doesnt really take any timing.

You wanna talk about advance defense against cross ups, dashing foward and throwing out a low attack into a combo as SOON as they land on the flow to punish they're crossup attempt.

Keep in mind this only works with characters with Decent foward dashes and you have to be able to read crossup jump ins like your own back hand. Yes, baby steps would be best.

yoshi's is terrible for this...King's is doable but strict...Juri's....*yawns* like a man tied to a table and she just lays the beatings on him for free.

Works with characters with forward advancing normals also, like Cody's cr.mk.
