Ah Super Mario World. The name itself makes me smile. It was my first game I owned when my dad bought a brand new shiny SNES for christmas years back. Of course I had spent my younger life playing SMB at different friends houses and falling in love with this awesome platforming series.
SMB3 had been an awesome game that was so popular you didn't think it could get any better. SMW is one of those rare cases where that is just what happened. It got better...way better.
Gameplay:
The first thing you immediately notice is that WHOA look at all these colors!!
The game starts you off on the world map as introduced in the previous SMB3. You then proceed to play and find totally new levels, enemies, and moves/powerups that make you grin from ear to ear. The controls were very accurate and the levels were diverse, long, and creative. There were plenty of things to find and mess around with. Now all of a sudden we have Yoshi. A dinosaur that Mario and Luigi use to help in their quest to save the princess from bowser and his seven menacing kids. (AGAIN?!?!?)
Yoshi added the ante and gave us new ways to discover levels and moves such as eating colored shells that have different effects. Also that he could swallow enemies!! Who didn't love that. The game progressed really well and it all fit so perfectly. Who doesn't like the addition of ghost houses?
Gameplay is pretty much flawless with smooth gameplay and a flowing atmosphere it all just works well and does what it's supposed to do.
Graphics:
The graphics were a big step from SMB3. There were way more colors and environments that could eb used thanks to the Mode 7 chip in the SNES.
They visuals are nicely done and shine well even to this day with all of the 3D mainstays we have now. Mario was more animated as was his enemies and Yoshi showed how he was always willing to taste something new. The levels were bright and colorful which was easy on the eyes and never got too repetitive.
Sound:
The sound was also very well done. Remember this game was the launch for the SNES so naturally everything about this game was better than it's predecessors. The music was catchy and fun to listen to. It fit with the games levels and mood. Though there were no voices Yoshi sure made one of the most curious sounds ever heard. lol
Bottom Line:
You should play this game. If you liked the other Mario games (who doesn't) than you'd love this. It's nice to go back to with it's simple 2D format and fun replay value. Great for the kids and fun for all ages. Super mario World is a treat to play and shouldn't be ignored. I still play this game often and it never gets old. It's got many secrets and hidden levels to keep you busy and it's just downright fun to play so give it a try if you've never played it. Or play it again if you have; you already know how great it is so go for it and take a break from all the complicated games of the present and kick back and only care about what's going left to right. lol

I realised that Bowser Corrupting had TERRIBLE Quality.Since it was so long it would take alot of space.I shrunk the video to 100 MB (So I could upload it) And it messed up the quality. I'm making these with MUCH better quality. Part 1/3Posted Jan 3, 2008
