Tekken in a PSP is Godsend. I have never have so much fun on a fighting game since Tekken 3 and Tag. And I'm talking about Tekken 5: DR. And I can't help but compare that game to this game that I'm about to review.
Don't get me wrong, Tekken 6 is a great follow up to the previous title but in my opinion there are things that are better left untouched or not updated. New combos and new characters make this game even a little bit more fun though I still prefer to use the ones I'm most comfortable with. The story is crap. It's not Tekken strong point anyways so it's where in VS. or Ghost Battle that makes this game a fun experience with friends or all by yourself. The Arcade mode is much crappier than Story Mode save for the two huge boss you'll encounter in this fight(the other one being a random encounter). Even with character customization this game is still light in content but it's not necessarily a bad thing. It's all about fighting nothing more.
I think aerial combos have been there ever since Tekken 3 but it's in Tekken 5 that it became polished and defined and added to the command list. Tekken 6 has all this and more. They added a new twist to this feature. Get an opponent launching in the mid-air and you can follow up with a combo but that's not all. With the correct timing and moves you can send him down to the ground and he will literally bounce off and you can hit him with another combo. It could be a lifesaver. It's fun but only if your the one giving it. It's not nearly as much fun if you're the one receiving it which could be annoying sometimes. And frustrating to the point where I'd like to kill the one seating beside me.
I got mixed feelings with this game but that's just my opinion. If you like fighting games and own a PSP then get this. No self-respecting fighting fanatic would ever go without this one. Ghost Battle would maybe keep you entertain once in a while but it's really in multiplayer that really make this game a lot more enjoyable.

The PSP version of Tekken 6 is a fast and sublime as the console counterpart.

Overly exaggerated combos can be a turn off to an otherwise great game.

Tekken 6 for the PSP is a solid, but stripped down version of the fighting game.
