It is about that the damage (in combos) are to high. A full combo is almost game over. What he wants is to balance out the damage do more matches (2 out of 3 wins to 3 out of 5 wins). And to be fair I think a match in TTT2 is really fast.

i read that before too before. i think it's abt the game's randomness or so. i think Kor wants tourneys to adopt 3/5 format so better players could cope up and have more time to adapt to their opponent.
but if it's going to be in tourneys and they want it 3/5 time factors in. even if players have faced each other outside of tourneys they will still try get the "feel" of what their opponent will do or their strategy and play more safe, more turtlebacking. which will really eat up time in the tourney.
been playing tekken for a long time but im honestly not that good of a player compared to most here (my record is sad awful) but i agree with kor in some points. i still enjoy the game nonetheless

Only entered one tournament (at my local pub when I was in highschool!) so I can' t really say. I kinda think that rage damage is far more detrimental than juggle damage though :/
Hm, I always thought those 'pro' tournaments were best of 5 games anyway. Oh well.

I feel 3/5 is better for TTT2, but it really doesn't matter to me. It's all on the TOs, and as long as they don't change rules mid-tourney or screw stuff up, I'm game.
I also don't understand why KOR brought up UMVC3 being 3/5. 3/5 only gained traction because of a bunch of factors, namely streaming. Think CEO 2012 was the biggest influence. Organizers saw that the 3/5 format is possible, time-wise, and followed suit.
No explanations for UMVC3 are needed. It undoubtedly gets the most money via views, sponsors, etc.
If KOR or anybody else wants 3/5, they better sensationalize TTT2 until the big money rolls in consistently.

On one hand I agree about the damage. On the other hand, my resentment for this game's mechanics and feel may come from only spending a few months with it as compared to 6 where I've been playing it for 3+ years.

there's nothing wrong with the damage in this game if you know how to manage things. 3 out of 5 is fine, though.

To me his whole article looks like a pro who does what newcomers do: cry and complain when he loses to people he considers worse players. This is pretty frustrating I know, and it's probably even more frustrating when you have to travel and money is involved. But it happens, and when you look at the koreans it's always(at least most of the time) knee, jdcr or nin ending up as the winners. And their opponents are far better than the average us tourney players, yet they still manage to win tourneys consistently. So it looks like it's not as random has he might think it is. What really pisses me off about this article is KOR's cockyness. He uses the term 'cheated out' for 'better' players being kicked out by 'worse' players. How the hell would they cheat? If these players werent supposed to beat one of the 'good players', why should they participate? Instead the toruney could be hosted with just a few participants which are considered the best players following that logic. It's like : "get over here and get beaten by me so I can show off, but dont dare to win because if you do you lucked your way through" Sorry but this attitude makes me sick. If he wants to cry he should at least stay respectful.
Another weird point he has is that 'elder' players need to win the tourneys and beat the new players in order for new players to participate tournaments. How would I not get hyped and be encouraged to practice more when I see an underdog win the tourney instead of finding out the same guy has won the tourney a few times in a row?
The time is an obvious problem and probably everyone knows that. As I am not in the us, i dont need to care about what comes out of this though. I know he his hella good, watched a vid where he beat help me in a 2/3 (question is would he have won in a 3/5

, cause I think he wouldnt have) and I shall not discuss game stuff with people who have far more knowledge about it than me. But this doesnt change the fact that this makes him look arrogant and he is intentionally overlooking stuff to cover up that he's just crying around ...
