The Bottom Line:

"Been there, done that"

To start this review off, I'm not saying "Been there, done that" as a bad thing. Tetris is Tetris, and whenever and wherever you go, Tetris will continue to be Tetris. They can attempt to spice it up, but at the end of the day what it amounts to is the user feeling the need to play Tetris for hours on end to see if they can make it past their high score.

I think the big missing link in this game is internet connection. If this game had a marathon mode against other players, it would be fantastic. Obviously the problem with a lot of PS3 downloaded games continues to be the fact that you can try to play online with random people, and there may be no one else in the world at that moment playing the game. (I.E. Wheel of Fortune - For good reasons, I suppose.)

I think this game is overall basically all it could be. Tetris can only be upgraded so much, and if you upgrade it too much it changes what it is essentially, and people don't play it. Aside from the original, I would have to say this remake is my favorite thus far.
