If you want a real X-COM game, then go Pre-order Xenonauts: http://www.xenonauts.com/ Or try UFO 2: Extraterrestrials http://www.ufo2extraterrestrials.com/ Or even try Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars (from the maker of the real X-COM games): http://www.gamespot.com/3ds/action/tom-clancys-ghost-recon-shadow-wars/review.html?tag=summary%3Bread-review Because the only X-COM thing this remake will have is: -No Base Building. -No Base Control. -No Tanks to send into battle. -No Research (they have something called "Research points", which is just another way of saying "experience points"). -No Manufacturing. -No Random Missions. -No UFO to shoot down. -No more then two men/NPCs to command, but they can never die. -No Nations/City to protect. -No Micromanaging of any kind. -No real Strategy of any kind. -Nothing, and I mean *NOTHING* from the first 3 games to connect it to X-COM. -NO homage beyond ONE or TWO names.

Evolution? I don't see how it's an "evolution" when you change a turn-based strategy to a FPS. What made the original great: -Sectoids -The World Map -Base customization screen -Weapon customization screen -Randomization and constant saving/loading so your top team doesn't get an unsuspecting grenade to the face and recovering for weeks in the med lab. -Custom Alien ship exploration -Overwhelming feeling of invasion -Field of Vision None of which seems to be included in this poor "interpretation" of what made X-Com truly great. Thank you for destroying what could have easily been Game of the Year with innovation instead of complete transformation.

You know, there is an old saying... "Don't piss on my back and tell me it's raining!" By saying things like "We expected a reaction from the fans of the original X-COM", they are essentially doing just that! They have completely raped the franchise. There is nothing in there I can see that even resembles the original game. The fact of the matter is, if I wanted to play a first person shooter with sci-fi elements, I would buy or rent any of the 15,000 already on the market. 2K has neither the talent or guts to make a proper X-COM game. As far as I am concerned, Kristoff Wateverhisnameis can take a leap into an active volcano for all I care. Jerk... and this game is complete crap!

Well the devs seem to have listened to the xcom fans, they seem to be moving in the right direction. My suggestion would be to add the flying to zones ability that all xcom games had, armour upgrades for the xcom agents also and adding a wider selection of alien adversaries. Also will they be offering an online multiplayer element ie aliens v xcom agents. That would be interesting especially if one could upgrade gear for lvling up. But on the whole im gonna support this game, its on my list. Peace out:D
