Gatekeeper quest won't progress?

I can't get past the gatekeeper. Whenever I go up to him, the group of adventurers just stands there. If I go up to him, he won't do anything unless I attack him. Talking to NPCs doesn't progress the quest, and when I talk to the adventurers, the text says

Additional details - Apr 30, 2011 7:55 pm GMT

Sorry about the cutoff, the text says "I HAVE NO GREETING". I guess there's some sort of glitch, but is there any way I can use the console cheats to get the tear things?

Never mind, I got it with the kill all cheat.
