How do I get past Proving Honor?

I am trying to complete the mission Proving Honor, in the champions quest line. At the end of the mission, I have to follow Vilkas, and he initiates me into a member. At this point, the game stops. All the npc's stand in a circle with no additional options. I can wait, alternate views, and pause the game (bringing up the quest menu). I can NOT walk, pull out weapons, or do anything else. I have reloaded from previous saves and it doesn't make a difference, the mission won't end. A big problem with this is that I am stuck with Farkas following me everywhere as opposed to a companion of my choosing that could help carry weigh. I have read of others having this issue and others who get right through it with no problems. Do I have to just skip this mission and wait for a patch or does anyone know how to fix this?
