I'm learning more about Norse mythology, as well as reading the Warhammer 40K Space Wolf novel, so I'm tempted to cancel my Darksiders 2 preorder and get Skyrim instead, but I'm on the fence.

I got Kingdoms of Amalur and got bored with it... seemed like I was playing it just for the sake of saying I completed quests. I'm a RPG fan, but I guess I get too obsessed with exploring/doing everything in open world games, to the point where it's almost a chore to play.

Hopefully my interest in Norse mythology and Elder Scrolls in general will keep me interested? Any perspectives?

Lol, norse mythology? Last time I checked the game doesn't revolve around norse mythology. It has it's own polytheistic gods to worship, called daedric princes. There is no thor, loki, yggdrasil (the world tree), or any of that. You will have alot of quests to do though. In fact that's pretty much what the entire game is.... quests, quests, and more quests. It's also an open world environment, so you do alot of exploring. If you get skyrim expect to ignore your friend's phone calls, forget to pick your sister/brother from school, and any thing else that could possibly be considered as "having a life". Skyrim and "having a life" don't  add up.

Yea, I enjoy having a life. Well, I guess I'll stick with Darksiders 2! Thanks!

    I say get Skyrim.
I got it on release day and i still play it, Its just so fun just simply roaming about, doing intresting quests
My best bit of the game is the leveling system, Depending what youy do molds you to that play style, Like being a theif or a mage. If i focus on magic i'll mold into a mage, but if i change my mind later on, ill hack and slash my way into a Swordmaster

Skyrim doesn't have any Norse mythology in it. It has its own history/madeup lore to it, but the ideas to certain parts of skyrim's lore came from Norse mythology if that makes sense. What I'm trying to say is Norse mythology isn't in skyrim, but some parts of elders scrolls lore is kind of based off of it just some parts though its not like norse mythology makes an huge impact in the lore its just minimal. So when you play Skyrim you won't be doing anything that has to do with norse mythology, but you might see a little connection or you might be able to compare it. That's just my opinion.

Skyrim is steeped in Norse mythology. Here's just one example.
