Think it's possible to sue Sony for promoting this game for PS3?

Yep, you guessed it; I bought a PS3 for this game. I've played uncharted 2 and 3 and LBP and that's it. The Last Guardian was continuously pending release for 4 years until it floated into hiatus purgatory and throughout that time my ps3 has steadily collected dust. I think it's totally worth pursuing suing at this point. I mean if the iphone 6 said it had a feature coming out "soon" which they never supplied until the iphone 7 there would be an outcry for compensation, right? Seriously, I'm not a Sony hater (loved the psp and psx and ps2), just want them to put their big boy pants on and own up to false representation.

I suppose you could sell your house to pay for the legal fees.

google "class action.".
Look, I don't know how many times I saw "coming soon.." or "coming in 20xx.." watching trailers for this game. I bought the PS3 literally when we all thought the release of The last Guardian was imminent in 2011 only for it to be delayed for a several months until it was delayed indefinitely. I could see this not working if it was not an in house developed game but that creates a direct relation to the hardware creator.
The Last Guardian most likely never made it very far into development on the PS3 yet Sony lead it's customers to believe a product was coming exclusively for it's platform that it most likely knew for a long while would never exist.

You think you can sue because a game got delayed?
Good luck with that dude.

I am difficult finding words to describe how stupid this is without breaking ToS, so I will just answer the question. No! You have no legal grounds to sue Sony over this. At all.

Im mad too. I officially bought my ps3 for mgs4, but i knew about "trico" the whole time! SotC made me the gamer i am today to some extent, meaning it made me a true believer in adults playing games. But here we are in 2013 and a new playstation coming and this game still isnt out.
Remember when they delayed the HD collection? Sony said that was in order to move it closer to TLGs holiday release. So we got the HD pal version in Nov, that was 2011 people. Why isnt this game ready for the ps3... It has been 7 years. I love SotC, but if TLG comes to ps4 without a ps3 release also, i wont buy.
Im getting burned with this ps3 purchase. Got one game with some old ass solid snake who now sneaks around with a magic set of pajamas and one guy who made two great games gets to waste everyones time for 7 years!

Out of curiosity, what would you demand for compensation if you sued Sony and came out victorious?

In this world people are being oppressed, children are starving, outdated laws are causing innocent people to be killed on a daily basis, endangered animals are being killed for trophies, workers are being laid off while the bosses are being handed massive bonuses and the UK are being fed horse unknowingly.
But in your life, a game you want that was in development isn't coming out on the console you want.... Poor you!
If you feel your life will benefit then yes, sue them, just don't come crying to us when you are laughed out of court!

People like you are what is wrong with the judicial system, where do you get your sense of entitlement? Failure to take responsibility for your own actions. Sad.
YOU bought the PS3. If all you wanted to play was The Last Guardian, they you should wait until the game is on shelves and then buy the system it's on.

I am not an expert but I believe most of those laws are to protect people who invest money into the development of software that turns out to be vaporware. Not this idiocy.

A "Class Action" requires a class. There would have to be a good number of people that have been "misled". I seriously doubt there are many people that bought PS3 just for this game, and establishing that would be difficult.
The thing is people have to provide evidence that they qualify for the class according to certain criteria. For something like this the first of course would be proof of PS3 ownership. There would also be some sort of date range of when it could have been purchased. Then what? Prove you don't own any other games? How do you do that? Even the OP admitted to having other games. Would you just let everyone who purchase a PS3 during that time frame in?
There are stores taking pre-orders but you can't blame Sony for that. The stores might go after SONY depending on what kind of agreement that have and what SONY told them. Unlikely they will do anything unless a ton of customers started demanding their money back.
If you can get a lawyer to take this case and get it together I say more power to you, but I don't think you have a legal leg to stand on.
I'm just glad I didn't buy a PS3. If you follow this stuff you know that consoles tend to go down in price so why should I buy it when it will likely be cheaper when the game I want comes out? Unfortunately if it is released on PS4 it will likely be out when PS4s cost the most and have the most bugs.

So your opinions are as bad as your ideas. Not surprising. Usually I would suggest playing other PS3 games, but whatever.
A smarter person would have pre-ordered the game first, then bought the console on the game's release date (I did that with my 3DS. Hell, I even waited a week after I bought the game to actually get the 3DS, and it was on sale. Try to be more like me, I assure you your life will improve.)

I highly recommend anyone who bought a PS3 and only a couple games for it, try some NEW GAMES already. There are plenty of excellent $20 experiences out there for you. Try Journey, it got GOTY for a reason.
You only have yourselves to blame for buying a PS3 primarily for 1 measly game.
