I hope this game has at least a 30+ hour story, but based on the uncharted series, i'm guessing this game will only have around a 12-15 hr story. I just want a reason to actually buy this game instead of simply renting it and beating it in one weekend.
Anyone agree? And any speculation as to how long its gonna be?

They have said to look to their other games to get an idea of how long this one will be. I'm not entirely sure how long the Jak and Daxter games were, but I imagine that somewhere around the Uncharted length will be on the mark... maybe a little longer. My reason for actually buying this game instead of simply renting it and beating it in one weekend will be because I plan on playing through it multiple times, as I have done with their previous three games.

I played the uncharted games on hard and it took me a lot longer than 12-15 hours to beat the game. But it was still fun to play it.

yeah, i understand 30+ would be a little too long / unrealistic to expect from them, but if multiplayer is mediocre(which i expect), then I just hope there's alot to do in the single player- which i doubt. i hope im wrong though.

First, the story seems to be heavier.
Second, you will try to figure out how to get past the enemies unnoticed since you have very limited resources and there are no health regeneration, unlike Uncharted. You will play slower and be extra careful because of that.

by the way, a little off topic, but have they given any info on the multiplayer? I'm not buying this game for multiplayer, but i would appreciate a decent multiplayer component.

I have no doubt that the multiplayer will be incredible. Especially a survival co-op mode.

What gives you the idea the MP will be mediocre? They do have a full dedicated team working solely on it, that + giving the idea it's ND, I doubt it will be "mediocre".

Nope.
No real info yet, besides the preorder DLC : Survival Pack which contains :
- Multiplayer Bonuses:
· Bonus XP
· Melee booster
· In-game currency
· Customizable character items
- Bonus Joel and Ellie skins available once the single player game is completed
I guess it might be similar to Uncharted's MP.
Except for the part that ,probably, you won't be able to find as many weapons and ammunition in MP.

it would be great if the game was about 15-20+ hours. a game that goes over that kind of length tends to get really long and tedious while also reducing production value on some aspects of a game

don't get your hopes up for multiplayer. naughty dog never really shines for the multiplayer part of their games. uncharted 2/3 had decent multiplayer, nothing too impressive though..so yeah, don't get your hopes up. the single player will be amazing though- no doubt about that,

it would be fun for a while, but would get old/stale fairly quick. i'd rather have a competitive multiplayer with ranking system.

Games that people say don't need multiplayer usually bring me the more unique and fresher multiplayer experiences like Unchartered and Ratchet and Clank UYA. I'm definitely looking forward to the online aspect of this game.
