The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword gameplay from the GameSpot Live stage show on the E3 2011 show floor. Link swings by.
Pros: awesome music, graphics r good (imo), new items, ability to dash, enemies do whole heart of damage so hopefully it will be more challenging than recent zelda titles Cons: link looks awkward when he has his sword out Verdict: definitely getting. If only it were being released sooner
@Chris_catch_em The simple answer is yes. The extended form is yes, becuase MotionPlus is one of the main selling points of this game. Have you even tried MP?
This has nothing to do with wind waker. wind waker was a cartoon by all means, instead this has some good light effects and blurred shadows, it's more like a mishmash of WW and TP (my favorite one). How can you say that this game lacks of dungeons? It's still under development. If Nintendo wanted to innovate the Zelda franchise, I doubt that they'd take off the dungeons, which is one of zelda's main features. I can't even describe my hype for this game haha, at first I was so doubtful about the graphics, but this sky temple convinced me.
i just realized i may be mis interpreting wat people mean by "darker." so if it not too much trouble can someone explain what it means exactly
darker does not equal better. even though TP is my favorite zelda i think thats as "dark" as it should go. zelda doesnt need blood n guts to be a great game.
I think they should've forgotten completely about Twilight Princess graphics and gone to Wind Waker graphics. No impressionist crap. Or better yet, how about we just make Link look like in the cartoon and have that game 240p. Seriously what is wrong with you people who keep saying Wind Waker's art direction is the way to go? Have you even SEEN the Wii U HD experience tech demo? How about we make THAT into a game, complete with traditional Zelda gameplay and completely ditch Skyward Sword's lack of dungeons or whatever they're doing to the franchise.
Shame. I was hoping that they would take the series into a darker tone. But instead they went with the kids and made it like Phantom Hourglass :P
why do people keep saying the graphics are bad? Zelda is not and never will be a photo realistic game. anyone that complains about graphics shouldn't be a gamer. And those who say this guy is playing bad. this is the video from the GS chat with some guy from the nintendo booth so the random actions and wierd behaviour are due to him also explaining things.
has Nintendo been developing this game for 5 years? I thought I remembered hearing something about the development of this game being started before Twilight Princess was released,
I'm pretty sure the art direction was supposed to be 50% Wind Waker and 50% Twilight Princess. So it's like half cartoony. that's why the graphics suck.
The idea of sprinting is good :) I think they should have made a game with the windwaker style graphics
you know what? im gonna agree with the haters.THESE GRAPHICS SUCK!!!! musics nice and knowing how stupid i can be im probably gonna buy this crap
Wow the graphics look bad...they look worse than twilight princess and the guy playing sucks, so much for showing off the game lol.
I'm so glad you can actually run and have so many bottles in the beginning.... wait is it going to be that hard? The music sounds awesome. I just wish they allowed left handed controls.
Don't get it.....how can GC graphics in such games as RE 4 can be better than this Wii game ? Don't get me wrong, i f**ng luv Zelda since Link to the Past.
This new footage actually makes the game look much less cartoony, awesome I'll probably be getting this game if I buy a Wii this year.
In my opinion I liked it better when you open a chest, the singing would be heard.... Making it sound like an opera...
I must say that i like the audio and that flying grabber thing was pretty sweet. Also, I don't want to have to swing my remote around.
I like what I'm seeing as far as gameplay, I just wish they would make a dark gritty addition to the franchise. Why do they all have to be bright and colorful? Metroid Prime wasn't afraid to appeal to a more adult audience with its art style why can't Zelda do that?
being an origin loz story i bet from the description in demo's that all of the sky people in this game are in fact the ancestors of the Oocca Race From Twilight Princess.
That dungeon theme is excellent. :3 Sounds kinda like Sector 1 at around 2:35-2:50. I dunno why but it does. o_0
Really looking forward to this, i think zelda suits this art style more than the realistic look and i thought the quality of the music was excellent.
OH my goodness! That music!! So freakin good. And the way Link is even more living and breathing than before is a nice touch. He makes a lot more sounds and he seems so much more human.
I dig everything about this, the orchestration, the art style, the graphics, the sword swinging, I'm so getting this :)
There better be a way to remove all the wiimote prompts on the side of the screen.. Hopefully that's just for the E3 demos.
