@keith21uk bare in mind that the lvl 65 cap I beleive was the original cap before the first expansion rolled out so its not that much of a problem and yes you get everything you need, I havent gone into the game yet (though I have an account, just wanna watch the movies first) Ive spoken to players who have never paid for any of the extras aside from the expansion but they get on fine
no u dont get everything u need namely a horse im lvl 15 after 20 hours and not having a horse is killing me. Good thing is u can buy just the horse it cost like 3-10 bucks
Alright, played it yesterday and the movement was IRRITATING AS HELL! Why does my direction change during mid air jump? How is kiting possible without being able to constantly look at your target while moving backwards? Seriously, you jump in mid air and your character floats back the other way.
I'm starting the download now. I never considered playing it before when you had to play it. Maybe it'll keep me going until GW2 comes out.
people should try it out. In my opinion its just as good as WoW, and your not forced into paying a monthly fee.
So free to play up to level 65? Whats the max level? Whats it like playing for free? Do you have acess to everything you need? I see its a 10.458GB download.
I started playing a few weeks ago and upgraded to the VIP. It's more, something, than WoW. I think mature is the word I'm looking for. I just more people would give it a spin.
and it explores so many things untouched in the movie from the book, for fans. such as tom bombadil
Gave it a try now that is free, but really it is not the game I was expecting. Quantity means neither quality nor epic...I know...I know I will get punished for this.

finally i have been looking for a good MMO to play for a while now and with the new free-to-play choice I may have found my answer, that and i love LOTR
Its a great game for role players but I wouldnt recommend it for players who would like to have nice pvp, hard quests or spectacular combats. I mainly play world of warcraft but goes back to LOTRO to talk to friends, craft and talk to CPUs. I mainly recommend this for people who likes to do achievement farming in world of warcraft or just feels good when you get to a point that you have worked hard for even though no one else knows that you have done anything at all. Its now a free to play game so there's no reason at all you shouldnt try it.
i dont like payin 4 a game an then payin 2 play it, but mmos last for months, even years. im a recoverin warcraft addict (not the idiot elitist clown type), but the fact its's free 2 play now is good.
More MMOs should move to the free to play model like this. It seems silly to pay ten dollars a month for a game you will be bored with fairly quickly.The sales and the fan base for this game will probably shoot through the roof this fall. I know I will be playing it. Why not, right?
well heres to picking up the game this fall, the whole fee thing is why i dont play mmos i mean i paid for the game already let me play it (then again i usually get games used on amazon for 20$ so mabey i just have a warped perspective on the value of a doalar in gaming)
This review sucks you have to agree it doesnt say anything about the pve and the images are very poor i ll try another review but from this one i am sure i wouldnt buy this game.

this game has SOOOOOOO much to do in it and its so fun although it is boring story quests can fix that and if u get bored playing as your low lvl hero you can jump onto a lvl 60 (65) moster in monster play this is truely an amazing game 2x better than that WoW game :)

this game is SO much better that WoW, plus on Dec first is a new expansion, man i can't wait for it, so get this, not WoW
@Knight95007 well lord of the wing sis largely a british made franchise, so its to be expected that we hae the majority stake in its development,,,,not every game is going to star americans you know
The Lord of the rings Online is so much better than WoW...in that it has a great overarching storyline as well as hundreds and hundreds of interesting side quests. WoW is a grind...nothing more. You have literally experienced all that WoW has to offer in the first fifteen minutes. LOTRO is an absolute masterpiece.
This game is what MMOs all about. The variation is huge, take WoW where all the houses and dungeons look the same just copy paste and then take a look at Lotro........They sure NAILED it and I love it
