Yep, I actually recommended this expansion for Sims 3. In fact the new expansion offer quite a number of content and in addition a new way of playing Sims 3. This is the first aggressive/bold move made by Maxis, introducing a world where adults enjoy life during the night.
Strictly speaking, although it offer less than what World Adventure and Ambitious have, what it provides in this expansion is the solid gameplay system that otherwise very cheesy, clunky and unrealistic environment compare to the Late Night expansion. The previous expansion offers gameplay generally to everyone, so no wines(call juice, and that even kids can't drink! o.o), no hinging out at night (Thank You curfew) and generally adult activities are avoided. So that the parental guidance have less effect, parents won't complain, everyone happy! :)
Or is it......
So far, Sims 3 late light offer what previous sims expansion and even sims don't, a big city, with all the guilty pleasures an adult will do at night. Sure its a morality crime to do that, skinny dipping, getting kick out from the clubs and drinking. But at least its all happened in real life, and Maxis did a great job reflecting one.
One of the addition that catches me is the Vampire and Band Play, vampire featured in Sims 3 look better, sexier and more fun to play around. I enjoy the stalking, which increase the visual presentation of what sims 3 have. The Band play however, is the best I've seen, now you can form a band that perform in gigs show. As I actually have a group that resemble Nickelback, but somehow limited to a single guitar playing solo. In late night, you have drums, keyboard, piano and bass to form a life like band. The drum, keyboard animation are very well animated, and they animated with decent accuracy to the music they play. Besides that, you have the Mixologist, a skill of mixing drinks we've seen and heard about, along with a new movie career, which I have yet to started out.
The thing that I don't understand is that most people complain that the game is so buggy is unplayable, I've been playing for around a week, the latest patch fix major bugs and remove glitches. I recommanded that you recheck your mod, which may have been outdated and incompatible for Late Night 6.08
The expansion new city offer great stuff, although it does not come in quantity or variety. But if you looking for a more mature approach of playing the sims 3, this is the likely candidate, if your a kid, well, considered first or have parent advise. XD So far I have not encounter a bug in the expansion, do reconsidered.

Plenty of new gameplay ranging from small details to huge additions, but needs ironing out that patches haven't fixed.
