- "Just plain fun"
The past few years Square has been doing some special things for the its aniversay. 20 Years Square did Dissidia (which gave Final Fantasy Fans there dreams), along with the Ivalice Alliance. For the 25th anniversay we get this a rythm based game. There isn't much of a story but its not what the game focuses on.
The thing I love about this game more than anything is the memories inside the music, the cinematics and its some of Uematsu and Hamazu's best work. Like I said in my heading this is 10 years of my life in one game. The game plays out with some pretty cruddy sprite graphics, but it shows the true potential of the 3DS graphics considering it can play cinema's from Final Fantasy XIII. The cinema's to music from the game as well do the battles. Some are boss battles. Fans of the series will recognize songs such as. The One Winged Angel, Blue Fields. and many more.
The game does stay true to Final Fantasy as an RPG there is leveling up and your characters do do damage to enemies as the song progresses. when you miss a note it decreases your HP.
Really what this game caters to is fans of Final Fantasy. I can't see many fans outside of Final Fantasy having a desire to play it, but its a good rythm game that can be enjoyment for all. 8.5/10

A pretentious mini-game, overdressed behind cutesy characters and a pseudo RPG system
