The 100 Year Club

102 – Tosa

First run after unlocking the Tosa and it went surprisingly well. I found myself at Year 87 in the Park West area surrounded by Lions, Tigers, and Dinos so decided to go to ground in the sewers with my one sibling (previously, the longest I had lasted was 72 years with the Retriever). I had a good stock of medicines and a single bottle of water and one pack of pet food. Year 93 rolled around and I was dying of old age (0 hunger) so I mated after carefully making the sewers my territory. Luckily, nothing spawned and I was able to wait out my days until Year 100 living off of the water streams and mitigating the toxic effects with medicine and bottled water. Once year 100 hit, I decided to surface and test my luck. I managed to run through a dino-infested Shibuya Station (while taking out hyena packs) but quickly died in the Shop District after getting cornered by both dinos and Neanderthals.

I wasn’t checking my life/hunger at this point because it was quite frantic but it didn’t look like the Neanderthals actually did any damage to me. I think I died from toxicity. It’s amazing how daunting the 100-year mark seemed when I first tried this game. I’m excited to try for other 100-year runs as I enjoy trying to last as long as possible with animals even after unlocking new ones.
