How old is Sam now? No middle aged man can climb up a cliff wall like that (in the 11 min. gameplay trailer).

Also, why is he NOT voiced by Michael Ironside?

Unless this Sam Fisher is like a younger Sam but in the future?

The game still looks fun and I'll be getting it, but damn.

He was in his late 40s in the first game, which took place in 2004.

He's pushing 50 by now, but age is irrelevant when he keeps himself as fit and healthy as he can be, just because he's old doesn't mean he can't still climb cliffs and stuff.

Ubi has thrown all sense of reality out the window. Sam is age locked, meaning he wont grow any older from this point on. Sam's identity has never really been consistent, it usually changes slightly with every game (backlist making him into Commander Shepard).

Aside from that he is also slightly super human now, being able to climb and run with an almost weightless and effortless motion.

I'm glad he isn't getting older. Old people can't be stealth.

Think of it this way: Sam would be mighty damned boring if he weren't fit and agile and had to limp along with his grampy cane. When performing a stealth move do you want to take out your false teeth and gum your enemies to death or do yo want to drop from the ceiling pipes and snap his neck like a boss?

They should have just given us a new protagonist, seeing how Ironside is not returning and Conviction was a great send off for Sam.

It's a shift of paradigms and target markets, plain and simple. The developers don't want to build a game where you ever feel limited or too slow. Granted, I would personally rather have some more realistic movements, but the way they're building it doesn't really allow that to happen since the whole point is that you can be stealthy or running around shooting people, and any combination in between.

For now, I think we should all be grateful that they're actually taking old school SC and stealth game players into account at all and dedicating so much effort to appeasing us. I started off thinking I would pass this up, but now it's the only game I'm looking forward to this year.

I'll agree with you. This is the only game I'm looking forward too as well this year. I think this may be possibly my last game ever, because nothing else interests me.

Apparently, they wanted someone who could perform as a motion capture, and Ironside couldn't do it.

Opinions aren't facts. Why is that so difficult for the world to comprehend?
It's disturbing how hostile people on the Internet are. It's unnecessary.

Yep. Ironside's badassness would have made the motion capture sensors explode.
