After a pretty unsuccessful start to his journey through the Tomb Raider series, Johnny moves on to Tomb Raider II. Will he fare any better? (Spoilers: a bit, but not much)
Just completed Tomb raider 2. The game is wonderfully designed but my god when you finally complete it, it feels like you have really gone through an ordeal. I felt like I was playing ghouls and ghosts at times. This was due to the fact that due to not being very good at strategy my health bar went down to one shot and I'm dead on the latter levels. As I finished off the bloke with guns at the final level in Laras house I remember thinking "all this for a dagger which I can't really use! Still I enjoyed the immense level design but did feel the game was over puzzly at times.( is puzzly a word)? Core design must have been laughing their asses off when they designed the Temple of Xian every step Lara takes in these there's either a boulder or some kind of trap or jump that she has to make. My favorite level is the monastery the monks back you up as long as you don't shoot them awesome! honestly who doesn't like monks!
Best Tomb Raider EVER.
Going through the canals of Venice in a speedboat, 40 Fathoms.. God damn this game was awesome.
I did however hate the first level as a child. The tigers scared the hell out of me.
Also.... PS score of 5.7 by Gamespot?!? WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL!!! I hope the individual that reviewed this game was subsequently fired.
Are they joking? I was 12 when I beat this first level, and barely died in the last section. #overdoingit.
I control this game like a pro. Guy playing sucks and playing with keyboard sucks... Theres a slow walk where she stops on the edge... now hit back and run and jump forward... She will make every jump 100% of the time. Only noobs don't know this.
The thing about old Tomb Raider games that people playing it for the first time don't understand is that it doesn't control like modern games. You can't just run around pushing buttons all over the place. Instead, you have to carefully measure your steps, distance and time your jumps correctly. Then and only then you can begin to have fun with this game.
Oh God, I've got so sick of watching you keeping falling down. That's what it happens when you play a game like Tomb Raider with mouse and keyboard...
BTW I realized only now that GS gave TRII for PS a score of 5.7? Were you guys really THAT bad reviewing even 15 years ago?? :D
@slainta Notice that they gave PC an 8.2. Back then, the quality of games between console and PC were VERY noticeably different.
I guess I find British humor totally stale after watching this, actually the 2 mins I could tolerate. Watching somebody play a game that doesn't belong anywhere near a controller or keyboard is painful.
This was my first PC game, I played it a lot of times, although I don't touch this title for a while by now. I didn't remember how difficult those traps were! And yes, I think I died a lot at them too!
and.... i love you guy not just because you guys are the best but you two both are funny..... i cracked up laughing when you were lluring the butler into the freezer and one of you said"i think she wants to shw m her jubbies... that was hilarious and you did an amazing voice too
great job with the trailer, guys.. i really ABSOLUTELY did thin 10% that you guys did n awesome job... i don't want tobe rude but could i say something i i may.... have you guys ever thought about making the 1st 3 Tomb Raiders in high definition for the PS3 and the Xbox 360.. i just was curious beome to me tht would be cool and i am a Tomb Raider freak and i have all of them and pre ordered the newest one..
Tomb Raider 2 was a pretty good game for its time. Just because you are too inept to do anything but play it with a keyboard says more about you guys than it does about how silly TR2 is.
You're not really be amusing or edgy playing a 15 year old game and making fun of how archaic it is. Although I admire your ability to draw a paycheck being unfunny while playing video games.
How to get on with this live thing? like how to be there on that chat when he is playing TR3 because this guy needs a MASSIVE, HUGE, EXTREMELY LARGE amount of help to actually get the hang of what the hell he should be doing, i don't see that he improved a bit since last time.
Any idea how to be on that chat and when the next thing is live? for TR3.
These two are freakin' funny ... and they have nerves of steel ( especially the guy playing it ). Which I don't have. That's why I didn't play this one as much as other games at that time. Nevertheless, the game was refreshing with gameplay mechanics .
( that reminds me of ''Prince'' )
I had a great time watching this video and it triggered flashback of golden PC era.
God! Those control system wasn't that bad that days but that guy's super-moron playing is so remarkable! And he don't want to fully learn the controls at all, just forward forward and jump/fire randomly.
The old tomb raiders are so frickin hard haha...but then again most of those older games are hard as hell on the first playthrough...>.<
To me, TR 2 was the best one in the original series, alongside the Last Revelation. And watching these videos goes to show how much games have changed in general-pretty much every game now gives you a tutorial section to teach you the controls, etc., while Tomb Raider kind of just dropped you into the game and let you loose.
And of course the controls are awkward due to lack of analogue direction, but it was easier on Playsation than it was on PC. Just saying. :p You're getting better Johnny, but I can advise that you can just walk up to edges (using the walk button) and not fall off. Useful for zip-lines/tricky jumps. :)
Aparrently Johnny did not know lara can 'strafe' step by step. Might be useful next time you need to push a button.
Funny clip again, but I see you still didn't learn how to play Johnny?
Did you ignore all the comments people gave you last time how to play this game?
(I know some of the comments where harsh...)
Or you just wish to look stupid again on purpose?
because it really isn't that hard to play tomb raider series,
like really i don't know how you can't play the game that is this easy to play that every 8 year old could master it in less than 15 min...
like last time i hope you take your time and read comments with instrouctions or manual from game and learn to play it better so you won't suck this much in tomb raider III/IV/V, that all have the same basics as the first 2 games
@dusan18 I'm not aiming to look stupid on purpose, but the whole idea behind this series is that I'm coming to these games never having played them before. Researching and practising before each one would completely defeat the objective. I'm not reviewing these games, I'm merely seeing how I (being uninformed and impatient) get on with them.
@Rimsa_Laded I suggest you leave GS now and never return. Just a suggestion but one you should follow. Your IQ level is just waaaaay to low.
@Rimsa_Laded Not everyone comes here for news. those people rock.
