Check out the first gameplay video from the release candidate in this exclusive for Tryst.
Man, this is a perfect example of how bad Starcraft was. I'm continually amazed at how the even Indie games, I mean, even most Wii(!!!) games are better than Bl*****d games!!
Wow what century was this made in? It has bad graphics bad AI and all the units look the same or their visuals don't tell you what they do.
I was waiting for "need more vespene gas" but then I realized it wasn't SC...THEN I started waiting for "need more vespene gas" but in a crappy Russian accent...
"click to watch full uncut trailer" asking myself where's the skip button. If I wanted to see an AC3 trailed I'd look up for it myself. Gosh, I'm old enough to know what I want.
Might be interesting, but the gameplay in this video seems bland. And why does he need to select the same units over three times in less than five seconds?!
Yes, seems like a Starcraft clone, but I think everyone agrees that, in a genre starved of new games, a clone like this is actually a good thing.
it's slightly annoying that the player keeps selecting the squad again and again instead of just giving orders . Makes the gameplay video look bad .
thank you devs for the beta key...from an rts gamer view tryst is fun to play, visuals are too good to be indie...except for the UI being familiar nothing of this game is SC2 at least not the 10year dev time
Looks like a mostly standard RTS with a super awful zoomed in view. Overall quality just seems low too.
Tryst is an old school RTS. It's aimed at both casual and core RTS gamers alike with enough depth and choices for strategy.
We consciously went for a familiar UI so that gamers would feel at ease when they start playing Tryst. But we're hoping that once you start playing the game you'll notice that it feels and plays quite differently from most contemporary RTS games. We decided to make the humans accessible from the get go because our second faction the Zali play quite differently than most other factions in RTS games.
We love old school RTS and we love MOBA games - Tryst is unique twist of both - it is an old school RTS with the pace and playstyle of MOBA games. We genuinely enjoy that moment in LoL or Dota where you can see your unit use an ability that changes the outcome of an encounter, it's what our tech tree (the A.R.M.) is built around, abilities that if used skillfully and timed well can change the outcome of an encounter and hopefully result in roars of triumph that shall disgruntle all passersby & the universe as we know it!
Or at least mildly gruntle the universe as it lolls about rather lazily on a Saturday afternoon.
Given our limited resources, we focused our energy on gameplay features and design. We're currently in the process of writing a dev blog that will explain our rationale behind our UI design and our Art/Graphics choices. It'll hopefully be up soon at http://www.bluegiantinteractive.com/tryst/blog
Join the beta to try the game for yourself. We're giving away 5 beta keys for the game (can be used on steam only )right now ! first come first serve.
We hope that people enjoy the game. It's why we do what we do and we'll keep trying to make it better based on the feedback we get from the community !
@AnimeFreaks Its not randomly bashing every new game when you see a gameplay video of it...and after watching for 5 seconds you feel nauseous and you give your honest opinion.Do you really think people are wasting their time looking for a game to "bash"...and what f difference does it make if they do? It is their opinion to give or not to.The game looks LAME!
Regardless of what the game may look or not look like, for me personally it's as simple as this. I don't like the type of games where I got to click like mad and stress, I feel I'm too old for that. I prefer strategy games like Supreme Commander, especially Forged Alliance. I will not say this is a bad game, because that's all down to your taste, I'll just say it's not for me.
I really dislike you people randomly bashing new games. it seriously feels like you guys have nothing better to do and just bash stuff to make yourself feel all high and mighty.
i dont think this is a bad game. you dont judge a game purely based on the graphics. game play, music, story are all very important. if graphic alone makes the game for you then you are not looking for a game go watch a movie go play ff13 lol at that game play. better yet there are alot of anime "games" that are pretty much picture books with voices added. a game is meant to be PLAYED. and the graphics of this game isnt even that bad.
and dude release date is stated as sep 14 2012 on this page, you say this is going to be released in 2013? WTF? do you people even know what you are talking about. bs enough?
this is identical to sc2? this is nothing like sc2. i am a veteran sc player since sc1. you "identical" seems to be based on the appearance and the rts mechanic. saying one rts game is similar to another rts game is DUH??? the game has similar feels like dark reign and command and conquer. absolutely not sc2. if you say this game is like sc2 in my opinion you know nothing about sc2 and would not give any credit to your opinion.
this is your classic rts if you dont like the genre dont like scifi you may not like it. this doesnt look like a big hit for hardcore and competitive gamers but its quite good and reasonable for casual gamers.
i have to agree with the comment that rts have not evolved much at all over the years. I would like to see more rts games been made because i like this genre. unfortunately this is not popular with the vast majority of people. i am the minority here.
you're not a minority. There's a lack of rts's lately because devs are intimidated by Blizzard for now. Just look at all the negative response this game got -even before anyone got to play it yet. I strongly dissagree with that attitude, they should be commended for trying to make a game, at least
I don't know how this game plans to differentiate itself from the current glut of RTS-style games just like it.
