Ultimate Spiderman is your average Spiderman game however there are a few small differences and a few big differences, as unlikely as it may sound however none of the differences are bad!
Lets start of with the small differences, first of there is the return of a few old and new marvel characters in this game that have nothing to do with Spiderman what-so-ever! Also another small difference is the select screen, there is a whole bunch of unlockables and crafty secrets around! Now to the bigger differences, most obvious of course is the difference in graphics, insteadof being the same old boring graphics they've jazzed them up to look more cartoony and stylish. Another big difference is the clips which are clevery made to seem like a comic book which the game developed from. The final difference of course is the fact that you can now play as Venom!(And if you get far enough into the game Carnage!) You play as him on certain levels in the story mode, however once you've completed the game you can play as him whenever you want, however you want and have a kickass time while your doing it!
Unfortunatley although this game is definatley the bast Spiderman game on the PS2 it does still suffer from 2 issues. First off the fact that although the story is massively enjoyable an average player could complete it within 15 hours so this takes down its playability. Finally the last bad point is the lack of any multiplayer, yes i know that no Spiderman game has ever had multiplayer, but this one should have as it would have suited it perfectly! You could have done a sort of chase game were one of you is Spiderman and your chasing your friend who's playing as Venom, or/and you could do a game were you both have to hunt each other down in different locations and the first one to beat your opponent wins!
Ultimate Spiderman is a great game with plenty of charm, a couple of niggles aside this is an awsome evperience that will keep you tied for ages! 8/10!

This is the only spidey game that seems to reference the fact that spidey is a comic book hero, and they did it so well.

Great, fun game for die-hard Web heads like myself, and also a fun game for super hero gamers in general.

Whether or not you've read the comics, this game is incredibly fun, and most importantly captures Spidey's essence
