This game is great if you like Spider-Man, but if you don't, consider a rent or just pass this title altogether

- "Worth playing"
I loved the Spider-Man movies and comics. This game doesn't have anything to do with the movies, but if you've read the comics, then you'll be familiar with the story and characters throughout.
Story--the story is basically ripped out of the comics, but it draws you in towards the ending of the game. There's lots of characters, and the story between Venom and Spider-Man is great. The symbiote (or black suite) has a completely different story than Spider-Man 3. Spider-Man is still in high school in this game, so he has a good connection with his girlfriend, Mary Jane. The voice acting is also great.
Graphics--they're based off of the comics, so the graphics don't look amazing. The environments look generally good, and so do the characters, but it seems like it was ripped out of a Spider-Man comic book page. The Manhattan buildings just look alright, and the frame rate may slow down sometimes. The graphics are good, but not great.
Gameplay--it almost feels like this could be Spider-Man 2, but not quite. You have basic attacks and web attacks. In order to defeat the average thug, after beating him down, you have to web him to the ground, which does get annoying. Also the swinging doesn't feel that great compared to Spider-Man 2 and 3. You can't go inside any buildings, but you can go into Queens, though Roosevelt Island is gone. The free roaming does get boring after a while. Boss fights are extremely challenging.
Story: 8.5/10--a great story throughout the game, with excellent voice acting to back it up.
Graphics: 7.2/10--there's clipping and some of the models look bad, but it has a comic-book style feel that makes it look good.
Gameplay: 7.8/10--the swinging isn't great, but the free roaming and combat are pretty fun.
Final Thoughts: If you like Spider-Man in general or read the comics, definitely get this game. For everyone else, consider renting this game, or buy it. It lasts you at least 20+ hours of gameplay, so if you're a Spider-Man fan, then you'll have lots of fun with this.

This is the only spidey game that seems to reference the fact that spidey is a comic book hero, and they did it so well.

Great, fun game for die-hard Web heads like myself, and also a fun game for super hero gamers in general.

Whether or not you've read the comics, this game is incredibly fun, and most importantly captures Spidey's essence
