I was driving by a weed dispencery here a few weeks ago (no seriously I was just driving by) and saw all these coppers pulling up to raid it. It was like out of the movies. I dont know whats up with them here, we have a few but they all got raided and closed. The laws on them are strange.

Morning

So for those of you that don't follow me on twitter - I started playing Poker at the weekend and at the moment I'm enjoying it. Dunno if its got legs yet though, buts its a fun distraction whilst the Mrs watches soaps on TV.

I also got messaged at the weekend by a guy on twitter. Said he's read my blog, thought I had some talent and asking me if I'd be interested in writing for a website. Which was nice. He wasn't offering me a job or anything. He himself writes for some sites so I he was saying if I send him some writing, like a mock review, he could send it on to "his people" and they could take a look at it to see what they thought.

Then, last night I was on twitter and Nola had retweeted someone's tweet about xbox and ps3 gamers/writers. I replied with a link to my blog and looks like me and Nola could now be colleagues It seems the dude that Nola retweeted was from that xboxramble site. They were looking for people for XR and a new PS3 site.

They've not really given me much info as yet, only wanted my e-mail address so they can setup an account.

Will have to see how it goes

Well I am a bit slack TBH. You will have an email, then a login in to Wordpress...I guess you will have to have a different one to access it. Also you will be added in to the Skype group so that work can be distributed. I haven't been logged in since this time last week so missed a fair bit. Seem a nice bunch of guys.

You might get a review if you are more active....

Cool, well I'll see how it goes. My passion is for gaming and that sometimes has a knock on effect to writing about games (hence that blog) but I wouldn't say I have any real passion for writing per se

I know that a lot of "real" writers are more a reverse of that. They like to write and subject matter is just a means to an end.

Yeah, i'm already envisioning business trips where we have to share hotel rooms and there being a mix up. "Hey Fodder, we orded two singles, yet this room only has a double....and why are there rose petals on the bed?"

Ya, I have no excuse for myself except that I am weak. Oh, WTF are these STRIKE FORCE levels!? It might just be me, but the very first one, pretty sure I had no clue what so ever as to what was going on. The "training" they give you before it starts was laughable. I really ran around trying to.... hell, I don't even know what I was trying to do. Seemed like I shot a lot of my own guys though.

Ya, in the SP story, there are levels where you can control any guy, turret or machine, or tell them where to go and you can switch between any of them. The first one you had to defend some complex that has 3-4 targets that you need to defend. If you fail you can try again (up to three times) or you can skip it and continue with the main story. I found it extremely confusing.

Fodder, yes.. in a way they are RTS based as you can get a full overview of the map, then jump from unit to unit if needed.

Holy crap, I have just tried on on Veteran and it is IMPOSSIBLE. I don't understand them... can you skip them? It seems that you can. But OMG it is just impossible to manage all your resources.

I haven't played enough to formulate a decision on the mode, but one thing you can't say that is that the game is always the same. It does seem to me at the moment (and I am only on the surface) that they have tried to make things a little different. Added in a little meta game with the challenges for each level etc, plus these new strike force missions rather than the "story" driven missions. I also think they have done a decent job on the MP as well, certainly MUCH better than terrible MW3 - although I HATE the new menus.

Speaking of the challenges, is there a place where it tells you what they are before you start the level? I'm having a really hard time figuring that out.
