So everyone by now knows that the Wii U's biggest selling point is possibly, probably its unique controller. It is designed to hold like a normal controller, but there is a large touch screen which can do a myriad of things which will shape the gaming experience for the system. But the question is: will it prove to be a better innovation in gaming technology then the Wii's controllers, or do you think it will prove to be gimmicky instead? What is your stance?
I personally feel that this is a great move for Nintendo to not only pull in more gamers, but also (in terms of gameplay) widen the view of ways to play games, developers can really try thinking outside of the box (or T.V.) and build a game that uses unique gameplay. To top it off its not always necessary to to use this Pad and features in games and Nintendo is trying to make it where you don't have to use this pads features in a game all the time unless its fully built around it otherwise its your choice. They also have a pro controller for all the hardcore gamers out their too so I don't see the problem. They literally just widen the ways you can play games and added Nice HD graphics to the console and more. And to say the other consoles are gonna make the graphics look like crap is long shot to me because their only so far you can go with graphics before you can't notice the difference. But I'm straying off the main topic (The Controller),I like all the systems out right now and sure to play most companies systems, but the fact is we now have a 3rd controller which add's to the possibilities of gaming in the world which Nintendo decided to take on and I'm pretty sure Microsoft an Sony are gonna be joining that wagon soon enough. *Looks at Xbox360's Smart Glass* -_- yea I see you guys....
I think it will be innovative since it has the appeal and functionality of a DS, but then looking between the controller screen and the tv screen will be dizzying. So I think it will be an innovation.

Trust me, when I played Zombi U at a convention last month, I got pretty scared trying to look down at the screen to see my inventory and avoiding zombies at the same time. That game has some pretty good scares to keep you on your toes. But back to the controller. I also agree that it's basically a DS. Nothing wrong with that. I think it will widen the range of games companies can make since there is a whole new dimension to work with.
I'm against the idea of a tablet because it feels like another way to not focus on simple things like game pads or just the game itself. It is somewhat innovative but I'm afraid that it seems like a way to say "The games might not be good but look at this tablet!". Not that the games are bad but I'd rather have Nintendo focus on the games themselves. I remember how well that went when they tried to force motion on third party games... Didn't really work out well did it? I'll still buy it though if it has decent reviews.
