Epic Games' Tim Sweeney geeks out on technology and gaming in the next 20 years at D.I.C.E. 2012.
Sweeney's obviously a legend in the gaming industry, and I mean no disrespect by the following, but; that was painful to watch. Good points, but awkward presentation.
my God he looks nervous. Always looking down and out of breath. But Public speaking is very very hard to do
@Nickplays, I'd rather be a person that thinks and talks the way Tim Sweeney does, than someone who thinks the way you do.
Love how they use a Crysis 2 screenshot to promete the Samaritan Tech Demo that anyway looks worse than Battlefield 3. Epic Fail meets the true meaning.
What he's trying to get at is that there is still room for massive leaps in graphical fidelity down the road. I've noticed a trend lately where people are stating that nex-gen won't offer as great an advance in graphical fidelity like previous generations, because current console graphics alreadly look so good. I don't know where this mentality is coming from, but as impressive as Killzone 3 looks, it still doesn't hold a candle to 15+ yr old CGI. I think people are just trying to make excuses for not wanting to throw down $400 on a new console. Guys, the 360 is going to be 7 yrs old come this November. We are past due for new consoles.
This man is awkward as hell, but just about every really intelligent and talented people are. I hope he gets AAA tail.
I like how he hasn't mentioned PS3 or Sony once, yet many times did it with MS. Epic and MS really are tight partners, aren't they?
@Unreal Follow Add to List Ubisoft Ordilogic Systems Action Release: 1990 (US)@ LOL, somebody did a mistake. As for Sweeney, you can tell he's a programmer... :/
