  A New Way To Buy (Or Rather Get) Video Games.....

  Hey, just a quick line to let you in on a new community that I have gotten involved in and I highly recommend you do too.

  It's called Goozex. It's a gaming website where you can buy games, but the real attraction is there game trading system.

  You trade games amongst other gamers rather than actually buying them.

  Gamers post up games they have, you use the Goozex currency to "buy" the game, then they ship it to you, and they pay for shipping!

  You can trade games to get points, or if you aren't into that you can buy 100 points for 5 bucks. So far I have gotten Metroid Prime, Manhunt, Splashdown Rides Gone Wild, Neverwinter Nights, Kung Fu Kaos, Star Wars BattleFront 2(PSP), Knights Of The Old Republic, Halo 2, and Omikron: The Nomad Soul....

  ...All for 100 points, or, if you don't want to trade for $5 each.... pretty cheap and very easy.

  A Dark Day For Gamespot (Enter Only If You Dont Mind Me Being Pissed)

  Well im pissed off, and you should be too. At this point I'm still unsure if the rumors are ture. Nobody except for those involved really knows what it truly hapening in this situation. However, at this point the evidence, such as the new Penny arcade comic, various people refusing to talk, and the lack of denial, is pointing towards the sad reality that all of this may be true.

  Well, I'm just going to complain for one second, but I just wanted to point out how big a deal this all really is to the gaming community.

  First off, its not the loss of Jeff G. that I'm talking about. He was a good writer, and a funny guy but really, that's not the issue here. The issue is that this entire fiasco is all about the denial of the freedom to write whatever he wanted to write. Apparently his giving an honest opinion of a game (which I totally agree with, Kane and Lynch is disgustingly awful) got him in trouble with the games financial backers, Eidos, and now he is out of a job.

  So basically, the fact that he wrote something the Eidos guys didn't like got him fired. BUT!!!!! It's important to consider the fact that it obviously wasn't Eidos that fired him. It was our once beloved Gamespot.

  Are they really that influenced by their sponsors that they are willing to let go their primary personality to make them happy?

  I realize that finances are important but have Gamespot become the sponsor's puppet?

  We will see.

  I fear for the state of gaming journalism.

  This is a dark time for our hobby, and four our site. Lets Hope they get it all worked out sooner rather than later.

  I Won A $5000 Dollar Gaming PC...Im Happy!

  Hey all, Its been a while. Work, University, Family, Vacation. Well, enough excuses, ill be around a bit more often now.

  Anyway onto my big news.

  Anyone ever hear of a little game called Assasins Creed? Probaly, that is if you arent dead or have just decided to get interested in videogames today and my blog is the first place you came. Anyway, In my fair nation of Canada there is alot of Hype going on about this game. It was developed here, in Montreal by Ubisof, so there is a sence of pride to be had from a game that is made close to home.

  So on one simple, in a simple Canadain game store, Microplay, I saw an add for Assasins Creed. It told me to go to...

  So i did. And im so glad I did. After a quick sign up, a quick play of a simple double click game.....

  It was really that easy! It took me like 10 minutes and now I will soon have the new NX Fusion II Elemtal Gaming PC. This PC is AMAZING. Im not sure of the specs but Lets just say that $5000 will get me a more than capable PC.

  Can Any Shooter Stand Up To Halo 3?

  Can Any Shooter Stand Up To Halo 3?
  
  With other high profile games on the way like Haze, Killzone 2, The Darkness, and Crysis, does anyone believe that any of these games can compete with the 10005080 tone freight train that is Halo 3?
  
  Although some of these games promise to be excellent and look like they will deliver, does the hype of Halo 3 alone outweigh any chance that they have to be successful, because we all know that Halo 3 would sell even if Bungie just shoved some dog crap in the box and told you to throw it at your parents.
  

  Personally I dont think that any game, regardless of its pedagree or its outcome, can or will stand up to Halo 3, thats not to say that Halo 3 will be a better game than any of these other games, that is simply based on the ridiclious ammounts of Hype and fan love that surround this series.

  Metal Gear And Why It Should Go Multiplatform

  Just a month ago I would have cursed the name of anyone who dared to say that Metal Gear Should come to the 360. I didn't like the series but it was one of the few glimmers of hope left for my beloved Sony. However, now, I believe that the series should go multiplatform.
  
  I, AA7, was for a very long time one of the few people on the earth who honestly HATED the Metal Gear Solid series . I HATED it. The camera angle pissed me off, the Looooooong cut scenes pissed me off and I hated Snakes Arrogant character.
   
  But all of that has changed. After putting in some quality time with MGS: The Twin Snakes for the GameCube, I am now deeply in love with the series. I love the camera angles, I love the Looooooong cut scenes and Snake is one of my new favourite characters.
  
  This series is too good to be missed.
  
  So basically the conclusion that I am coming to is this: Share the greatness.
   
  This series is fantastic and no gamer should be deprived the joy of playing it.
  
  Why not allow the series that gamers praise and love to be praised and loved by all?
  
  Hmmmm???
  Is it really worth one of the best series available to not reach a wide audience just to be selfish and keep it all to Sony?
  I don't think so.

  Final Fantasy Is Coming Somewhere Other than the PS3!

  MGS4 has been formatted from its original version to fit your 360.

  Recently there has been alot of stink about console exclusives. Now, I love exclusive games. Halo: Amazing Online. Final Fantasy: Epic. Zelda: Classic. But are exclusives really that important? Well about a week ago one exclusive came into question, and there were almost a few murders over it. The game was Metal Gear Solid 4. Alot of people refer to this as Sony's "Last Hope". While this is far from true, Sony does have alot riding on it. Anyway, the series creator, Hideo Kojima had this to say. He says that the PS3 is like a theater experience, the 360 is a DVD movie experience and the Wii is like watching TV. In other words, the PS3 is Epic, the 360 is a good time and the Wii is good in short bursts. Following this he said: "We are really shooting for a theater experience with MGS4."
  
  This made every PS3 fanboy say: Well thats is, its never going to the 360 now. YES!
  
  Are you sure........
  
  So.......My take on this is as follows...... Kojima Says…. PS3 = Theater and the 360 = DVD. All theater movies eventually come to DVD. Maybe we all just took his hint wrong. Now, I’m not saying that MGS4 will be coming to the 360, personally I don’t think it will ever happen. However , while Kojima did say that they were shooting for a theater style experience with MGS4, don’t all theater worthy movies shoot for that? Then arent they all transfered to DVD? Hmmm........
  
  So….Basically what I’m saying is that there is no way to rule out a 360 version completely. He didn’t say it was never coming to the 360 and for now that’s enough to put a glimmer of hope into the hearts of 360 fanboys everywhere.
  
  You never know. Just like DVD’s always say…
  
  “This movie has been formatted from its original version to fit your Television”
  
  Perhaps there will one day the 360 version of MGS4 will say…..
  
  “This game has been formatted from its original version to fit your 360.”......................
  
  Do you think that MGS4 will ever see the light of day on the 360?

  I Am VERY disappointed.

  Well. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity the trailer for the new GTA game has finally been revealed. And......I have to be honest. I am VERY disappointed. This game had my hopes very high. I was hoping to have an entire state to explore, like in San Andreas, or with the new tech, maybe something even cooler. The recent game Just Cause got my hopes even higher. This game contained a fairly detailed game world that was over 1000 square miles. (VERY HUGE)
  
  But a city? One City? A city I have already played in... in 3 other GTA games.

  
  I was there in GTA 1.

  
  I was there in GTA3.

  
  I was there in GTA Liberty City Stories.
  
  And now I'm going again?
  
  I am unimpressed.
  
  But perhaps I'm speaking too soon. Perhaps the game will contain Liberty City as only a part of a much bigger game world. That's what I'm hoping for.

  So, what are you expecting or hoping for from this new GTA game, or are you one of the people who is anti-GTA? Whatever your stance drop a note and let everybody know what you think.

  International Kick The PS3 In The Throat Day

  Kick #1.   Devil May Cry 4 goes to 360. One of the PS2's most cherished  (and amazing) series goes to tmultiplatform.
  
  Kick #2.   Ace Combat 6, yet another Sony exclusive series goes to the 360, but this time NO PS3 version follows.
  
  Kick #3.   No Obilvion for Euro Launch. Biggest Launch game lost.
     
  Kick #4.   No Splinter Cell: Double Agent for Euro Launch.
  
  Kick #5.   No Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 for Euro Launch
  
  Kick #6.   No Rainbow Six: Vegas for Euro Launch
  
  Kick #7.   No F.E.A.R. for Euro Launch.
  
  Could things have been worse for Sony and their machine?
  Well, yeah, but lets not talk about it. Im truly sad for the hell that Sony is going through.
  
  I can just see the Sony Ofiicials in their offices, crying and hugging one another saying:
  "It's ok, we still have Metal Gear Solid 4........for now....."

  Okami VS Crackdown

  Well, I from the title you may get the impression that I’ve gone nuts. No, I’m not actually comparing these two games.

  I’m going to EB and I’m going to get one of these games.

  I have wanted Okami for so long, I have heard so many great things about it. I’ve heard that although the graphics are gorgeous, but that the games real strengths lie in the epic world and  fantastic story.

  

  I have also been looking forward to Crackdown for a long time and now, and now that its out all im hearing are good things. I hear of its addictive qualities, massive explosions, and death defying skyscraper jumps, and get all giggly.

  

  If any of you guys have played either of these games drop me a line and let me know why I should or shouldn’t get either of these games.

  Playstation Home.....Not About Originality?

  As there has been alot of excitement surrounding the announcement of the PSN Home feature, alot of people have been calling it a glorified 3D chat program. Although, there is a bit of truth to this there obviously has to be something more significant to Home than Chat......doesn't there?

  

  At the time I believe we can all be honest with ourselves and come to the conclusion that Home is Sony's effort to compete with Xbox Live. It is not a Light-bulb of originality that just one day turned on over Sony's head, they really only created this because the Gamer voice was loud enough that they could hear people say:

  "Pssstt. Sony. Xbox Live is a better on-line service than the PSN."

  And while we are being honest, Ill be the first to admit that the gamer voice is right. Im no fanboy, but Xbox Live is a much superior on-line service.

  So with this in mind, will home ever amount to anything? Is it original and innovative, or is it a weak effort to keep up with Xbox Live? Does it do anything new or is it somewhat flashy graphics mixed with 3D chat?

  I almost like Wal-Mart. Almost.

  So, quick post today, im kinda sleepy and have a Canadian History paper to write. Im having trouble choosing between sleep or my essay.

  Anyway, I got some cheap games yesterday, at of all places, Wal-Mart.

  Here they are:

  Advent Rising - Xbox (underrated I hear)

  

  Raze's Hell - Xbox (Funny, if the rumors are ture)

  

  Conflict Global Terror - Xbox (one of the best co-op series)

  

  Cold Winter - PS2 (A FPS, for PS2! I know nothing about it.)

  

  Jak X Combat Racing - PS2 (Fun, Semi-mature, Mario-Kart)

  

  Wal-Mart is not one of my favorite stores as I had a bad experience there at one time(thats a story for antother time) but they have slightly redeemed themselves. All of these games were $5.66! I was pretty happy.

  Anyway, let me know if you love or hate any of these games and if so why.

  So anyway, have a good day and check your Bargain Bins!

  P.S. This is the funniest thing I have seen in months! This shoul get rid of the winter blues, unless you are that kid of course!

  GTA4: So........................

  

  So, with the announcement that there is going to be an announcement the GTA4 hype machine has kicked itself into high gear. Right now the big question is "Where is it going to be?"

  Well as of now, apart from Rockstar themselves, nobody knows. But we can wish!

  So Where do you want it to be?

  Personally I think that they should go for GTA: Ontario.

  Im from this proud province in my native Canada and I think that it would be great to have a game located here. With the next-gen tech they could forget the old single city way of doing things and just go for the whole province! That would be sweet. Just think! You could kidnap and kill cows!

  

  Or are you a person who disagrees with GTA as a whole? I know there are alot of people out there who don't like them based on the more than sketchy content.

  Anyway, post away and say what you want for the next GTA!

  Dreamcast Players Unite!

  I love and loved the dreamcast. I have lately been playing it again and realising just how much of a shame it was that the console folded.

  So I am here for nostalgia.

  Post some of your fondest memories of the Dreamcast.

  One of my best memories was the very first time I played Soul Caliber. That game still looks beautiful.

  And if you never played, post and say why? Never got to it, or did you have some deep secret hatred for Sega? Who Knows?

  Chocolate Milk

  Just a quick post today, just wanted to let everyone in on the new video I just uploaded. A kid on Xbox Live freakes out like a maniac on his mom for not getting him his @#R@#%! chocolate milk! I nearly crapped myself with laughter. Anyway, im in Classic Greek and Roman literature class right now and Ive got to go, the tests are being handed out! Damn it! I knew I should have studied.

  The Legal System Is Crap - Defend Yourselves Americans

  The American Legal System is crap. Now to begin Im not saying that my native Canada’s is any better, all im saying is that the American one is B.S. Today, I read this article....

  A woman in the states is getting a minimum 2 year prison sentence for throwing a cup of McDonalds water into another persons car. She was rushing to take her currently in Labor sister to the hospital so that she wouldn’t give birth in the car and a person cut her off, twice. So she threw a cup of water at them. Big friggin deal right?

  Apparently the cup of water is being "Legally" called a missile and apparently she attacked these innocent people with a weapon. They are calling it the McMissile case.

  

  She is the mother of 3 children and her husband is overseas in Iraq, serving in the military.

  Personally I think this only emphasizes the stupidly of the legal system. Ok, so she got pissed and threw some water, big deal. So now they are going to tear this family apart, all because some **** got her car wet.

  The legal system is crap. Once again im not saying that Canada’s is any better, im just saying that the American one is a circus.

  Lonely.....Ive Got Your Remedy Right Here.

  Hey, In honour of Valentines day I just wanted to drop you all a quick note to say that I hope love finds you and that I hope you arent a loner in your room playing video games all day. At the very least hold back on calling that guy on Xbox Live a peice of #$&%! and tell them you love them. Show a bit of love and who knows, maybe it will come back to you. Wether its holding off on that last curb stomp in Gears or if its not being a jerk and hunting the weak noobs in WOW, show some love.

  Sonic Is Dead

  Sonic is dead. This blog post goes out to all of the people who believe that Sonic And The Secret Ring will be AAAA.
  
  Wake up. You guys are all dreaming. Do you honestly think that this
  game can, in any way, remove the years of horrible stains that the sonic
  name has received. This game will be no different than the bevy of
  horrible sonic games that have been coming out.
  
  Sonic lived, and thrived, on the
  Master System, the Genesis, the Saturn and the Dreamcast. But he lives no more.
  
  
  
  I just cant see sonic ever making a comeback. Once you dig yourself down
  so deep, is there really a way out? There is no denying that in recent
  years sonic has been total crap. Back in the day he was the prince (as
  mario was the king) but now he is little more than the court jester.
  
  I used to love sonic just like the rest of you but lets not shoot
  a dead horse here. Sonic and the Secret Rings will be no different.
