Earth Day was on Sunday and I did plant a two foot tall Spruce tree, it was a little breezy out but the temperature was about 55-60. On Monday April 16, 2012 the temperature in Dundalk was 70 degrees of delightful blue sky and warmth. A week later April 23, 2012 the temps dropped and the snowfall began, this morning I awoke to two feet of snow on the ground. My hubby took pictures from last night and this morning. Notice my garden chair! One of my chickens Dini (named after Houdini, you can guess why) passed away two weeks ago. The weather has been crazy here running hot and cold and she got sick. I got antibiotics for all of them but it was too late for Dini. I had her from baby chick to now 5 years. Pet Chickens can live to be 15 years of age.

Hope everyone is doing well. Television has been interesting, I'm loving Fringe, it's absolutely amazing, ratings aside, it's such a pleasure to see such a different and interesting show. The Borgias, is still as wonderfully decadent as ever. Game of Thrones is building up to something mind-blowing I can tell, The Killing is excellent noir story telling, and Ringer really picked up and became a show I enjoyed in the vein of Revenge another terrific show.

Enjoy the pics!

April 23, 2012, snowfall begins in the early evening

Keep an eye on the Garden chair. Last night April 23, 2012 5pm this picture was taken.

April 24, 2012 the morning after the snowfall

April 24, 2012 this morning 7:30am take a look at the Garden chair now. 24 inches of delightful white fluffy stuff. Very heavy wet shoveling. I got to the bird feeders and cleared them off. So many birds needing food.

Me and my chickens

The "Hee Haw Honeys" and me by the pond doing a little gardening. That's Rusty, Chicken Little and Dini. Huey the Great Pyrenees is in the background.

Dini Rest in Peace April 10, 2012

Commenting here, tv.com hasn't been working for four days now and there are lots of fake passport id's and other junk showing up. Has the site been hacked? Can't post in the forums been a member for 12 years and I get the dreaded WSOD and error 500 crap!

Hi IndianaMom, I'm so sorry to here about Tiger's passing. It's nice to know you're still around, I really miss alot of the people that were always a constant around here. Our winter was very mild as well until we got hit. It's all melted now. :)

Hi TVking, Ugh, no I've had enough of the white stuff! LOL! Definitely either rent The Borgias season 1 or go the library and take out season 1. It's an excellent show.

Hi April. I just happened across your blog. Sorry I didn't see it sooner. I hate those late snowfalls. We had a pretty mild winter, and people are still wary, wondering if the "big one" is yet to come. :) So sorry about your pet. We lost our 11-year-old dog Tiger last week. Maybe I'll blog about it.

Hi AprilFox. Sorry I didn't comment sooner. Had a few things going on and haven't had much chance to visit TV.com. Seeing all that snow this time of year almost makes me want Christmas to hurry and get here, not that I'll see any where I am. Of the TV shows you mentioned, I'd like to see The Borgias, but I don't get Showtime. Maybe on DVD, like I did with The Tudors.

Hi danharr, I was happy to hear that Fringe was renewed for a fifth and final season with 13 episodes. Fridays episode was a little slower than previous weeks with future worlds. Very awesome!

Glad to hear from you again still have the crazy winter weather up north I see. Too bad about Dini she was a beautiful bird and I just saw the first six episode of Fringe for 2012 and yes it's great.

Hi Lady L, Wonderful to hear from you too, and yes I have been negligent in my blogging. I try to get "Earth Day" in every year for me that's an important one. Alot of people don't realize that it started on April 22, 1970 and was in recognition of Eddie Albert's work in conservation and the eradication of DDT use in farming and also was his birthdate. Dini was quite the little raptor (they are from the dinosaur raptor family) and would get frustrated with me when I was digging and no worms were to be found, she'd peck at me and fluff up her feathers like she was going to attack me. LOL! Great memories, quite the personality.

Hi SparkleFarkle, What a pleasant surprise to hear from you! I have missed your wonderful blogs, such a flair and so much fun. Actually there were four "Hee Haw Honeys", Middy, my black chicken passed away last year same "Thrush" illness that took Dini this year. I would love to get two more little chicks, it's easier to train them when they are little. Thanks, it's a rustic 130 year old farmhouse.

Hi Angel, Thanks, the other two are fine just antsy to get out of the coop! Hi IWatchitall, Barrie is about 45 minutes away from us, it's really beautiful there. Definitely crazy weather, still have a bit of snow left but I lost alot of branches on the trees that had already gotten their leaves. Fringe is phenomenal and it has been renewed for a fifth a final season of 13 episodes to close off the story. I'm kind of partial to the little girl Hollie Cavanagh with that big voice.

How lovely to see you blogging again, April. The photos are really wonderful. I'm so sorry to hear about Dini. You have some wonderful memories but I know how awful it is to lose a beloved pet. Thinking of you. *hug*.

Deepest sympathy on the loss of your sweet feathered friend, Dini. Perhaps Rusty and Chicken Little will find another companion and the Hee Haw Honeys will be a trio once more. Rest peacefully, Dini. P.S. Your home is so lovely!

My cousins have a farm just outside of Barrie and they're also hating the crazy weather, it's never easy on the animals. Saskatchewan's been nice actually. Probably the mildest winter I've ever experienced. It was 28C on Monday and we're getting snow today, the morning of April 28th, but I can hardly complain. My life however has been stressful but I'm managing. FRINGE is easily the best show out there by a mile, with incredibly crafted story lines and "I don't want it to end" beautiful performances and moments, that capture my imagination greater than any current show, but I'm not sure if it looks and feels as good as it does only because the quality of programming on the mainstream networks has become so mediocre in comparison. It's a weird era for the TV industry, where very little quality entertainment like FRINGE exists on the mainstream networks, as most of the socially relevant writing, creative directing and exceptional acting, finds refuge on HBO,Showtime,AMC and STARZ. GAME OF THRONES is exceptional but had better be, considering the budget and story, yet I still don't connect with the characters on any emotional or existentially relevant level; still, I enjoy being apart of the unfolding and development of the events thus far. MAD MEN has lost it's luster this season and become relatively predictable. I caught the first 6 episodes of The Ringer last year and found it to be the poor mans version of The Lying Game which is so much juicier and captivating from episode to episode, and you know my opinion on the procedurals you like, so I'm not even going to start. Best season of American Idol if you enjoy listening to some pop music; a far superior show than it was during the Simon Cowell years; Joshua Ledett has one of the greatest voices I've ever heard. Anyway, sorry to hear about your chicken, I hope she was tasty!

Awww! R.I.P., Dini. I'm just glad that you and the other chickens are doing okay.
