Today's my 18th birthday!
That's right folks! It's October 5th, which means it's my 18th birthday. I am now legally an adult. Today, I'm going to get myself an office chair for my room and some games at Game Crazy with my birthday money ($30 plus $20 allowence). The chair is a gift from my mom.
So yes, I am excited that I am 18 years old now. I'm no longer a teenager anymore (thank god).
BTW, like my blog picture?

Quest for Camelot (Double Feature review part deux)
Well, one movie was out of the way in that double feature DVD I got in the mail (which would be of course Cats Don't Dance), but what about the other film that was in it? Well, here are my thoughts/review on it since I watched it last night.
Apparently, you've heard about the story of King Arthur and how he pulled Excalibur from the stone to become king when no one else can pull the blade out. You also heard about the knights of the round table a la Monty Python. But, Warner Bros. seems to put a twist in that story with Quest for Camelot, a 1998 musical fantasy flick about a young girl teaming up with a hermit and a two headed dragon to find Excalibur that was stolen, and fulfilling her dream to become one of the knights of the round table...literally.
The story is as follows, the story is about a young girl (played by Cary Elwes, and yes I forgot what her name was) whose dream was to become one of the knights of the round table like her father (who dies at the beginning of the film). While in Camelot, a former knight named Rupert had his flying companion steal Excalibur, right after he betrayed the knights and killed the girl's father. Problem is, Rupert's flying dumbass gets attacked by a falcon with silver wings and drops the sword in The Forbidden Forest (Ooooohhh). While that was happening, Rupert attacks the girl's village and hold her mother hostage. This was her chance to find Excalibur by escaping to the forbidden forest. Along the way, she meets a blind hermit named Garret (played by Pierce Brosnan), whom you can see in the film is a nature boy and a good combatant (even though he's blind), and a two headed dragon (played by Monty Python's very own Eric Idle). To be honest, the two headed dragon is by far the best character in the movie. So its up to them to find Excalibur and return it to King Arthur.
Again, like Cats Don't Dance, lets get to the technical stuff.
The movie was directed by Frederik Du Chau, the same guy that directed Racing Stripes, so you'd be expecting some good adventure plots in the film right? Heheheh. Of course you do. The music in the movie is pretty good by todays standards. Problem is, that some of the songs in the film are just plain silly. The only exception I think of is the song "If I Didn't Have You" which is what the two-headed dragon (Eric Idle) sings. I found it quite amusing. However the dialogue is pretty good, despite the fact that the girl is a complete chatterbox that won't shut the hell up at times. Oh yeah, and this film makes certain references to other films (the one that mostly comes up is Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry).
The animation in this film is nice, considering the fact that this was an animated film made in 1998. One problem is at the beginning after the credits that the animation slows down a bit until the next jump cut. Another being that some of the characters could use a little bit more work.
Finally the story, the story...is...well...decent. I've read and seen a lot better storys in video games, books, and films, but the story isn't that bad either. Not good, but not bad. The film runs for 86 minutes, half of the time being songs, while the other half is just dialogue and dark themes (which is awesome, because everyone loves dark themes).
Overall the film is decent. I've seen a lot better animated films, but this one is not a bad film. If you are someone who likes the story of King Arthur so much, your best bet is Disney's The Sword in the Stone, but this film isn't a bad choice either. It's not the best, but it does deserve some praise for being a good shot. This film gets a 4 out of 5.

Just beat Pokemon Emerald/VP Debate
So, what has happened to me today? Well, first I had sharp pain in the upper part of my back, and I couldn't stand it, so I went home and got a few hours of sleep. Turns out I had pulled a muscle. Usually my calf muscles are the muscles that get pulled, but not this time. Currently my back is killing me. I took some pain reliever medicine recently, but I don't think it's working.
Woe is me.
But on the positive note. I did beat Pokemon Emerald version recently with only 3 Pokemon in my party. The pokemon are Blaziken, Azumarril, and the infamous legendary Pokemon that won me the trophy: Rayquaza (the Pokemon on the boxart). Yes, people. I caught one. The level is 70 (now 71), and has been caught using a Master Ball. Now all I need to do is get my Blaziken up there where Rayquaza is. Overall, the game wasn't easy, but I got through. But I will say this, the champion Wallace (the last guy in the game) did put up one hell of a fight. Thank God for revives, because I'm not going down that easy. I only wish I had a wireless adapter or a GBA link cable, because if I were to challenge somebody who thinks their better than me, they'd have their ass handed to them in a few minutes time.
Now for the political part of the blog, the Vice President debate. I will say this:
PALIN GOT PWNED!!!
I don't trust McCain at all, so why would I trust his assistant Sarah Palin. She's a good speaker, I'll give her that, but the stuff she said, she doesn't know most of the stuff she's saying. Not to mention the fact that John McCain, to me, is nothing more than a Bush clone.
Now I don't want to get into a political fight, but that's just my opinion. I'd rather end the war in Iraq than keep it going (and I'm not saying surrendering because we're better than that). With that said, I'm going to go play my PS2 for an hour and then get some sleep. Later.
