Got a new laptop for school, and for a little gaming too. Not too powerful, but strong enough to run the games I want to play like Spore, Starcraft II, Warcraft III, Counter Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, and possibly Call of Duty 4 depending on how well I can run it. Most of the funding came from graduation money, therefore my parents of course got to demand that I go with a traditional name brand, Dell being their favorite. Nothing I could really do there, but oh well, at least I didn't pay for the 4 year extended warranty they also demanded, that was all on them. Anyway the specs are as follows:
Inspiron 1720, Intel Core 2 Duo T8300(2.4GHz, 800Mhz, 3M L2 Cache)
Jet Black Color with Matte Finish
3GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm
Glossy, high contrast widescreen 17.0 inch display (1440 x 900)
256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600
320G 5400RPM SAMSUNG Hard Drive
Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium Edition, English
8X DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive
Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy
Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini Card
Integrated 2.0M Pixel Webcam
McAfee Security 9.0, 3-Year Subscription, for Dell Inspiron / Dimension
Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student Edition
4 Year Limited Warranty
Dell Wirless 355 Bluetooth Mod
Dell Bluetooth Travel mouse
Ya, fun stuff right? Felt like mentioning it since it kind of pertains to gaming. I also picked up a few new games, The Darkness for Playstation 3, Silent Hill for Playstation, Stubbs The Zombie In Rebel Without A Pulse for Xbox, and Psychonauts for Xbox.
