Well, it looks like Guitar Hero World Tour won't be without competition this fall. MTV and EA just revealed Rock Band 2 which will launch exclusively on the 360 in September and other systems later this year. There will be several improvements including better periphrials, all current songs will play on Rock Band 2 and there will be additional online modes (Online Band World Tour FTW!). I am totally stoked! Rock Band was my Game of the Year 2007 and hearing that the sequel comes out this year has gotten me uber excited. It sucks that it comes out in September because I will have just started school and won't have a lot of money, plus that is a crowded month as it is, but still, I will have to buy the bundle. Now I might not be able to afford GH: World Tour, but I'll try to get it if I can. We'll see.
I just thought I'd share that with everyone...
has been defeated. I beat the solo career on Hard today pretty easily. It's quite a bit easier than GH3. I also earned almost 300 achievement points and have a good amount more that I can still easily earn.
Since I beat the game, I desided to write a review of it, so there it is in my review section. I think it's a fair review that goes in depth on all the positives and negatives of the game. Read it and recomend it.
When I get back from puppet practice tonight, I'll probably play some Battlefield or Alone in the Dark. I need to get a move on before next week when Civilization Revolution and Unreal Tournament 3 release.
Well, I'm off. Peace!
Interesting day today. I ended up seeing Wall-E, which was fantastic. It was probably the best movie I've seen all summer so far and one of the best, if not the best Pixar movies ever. You simply have to see it.
Grade: A+
I parted with a couple games today for the greater good. I ended up trading in:

because I had a coupon where I could get $15 extra credit when I traded in two PS3, Wii or 360 games. Sonic I got mostly because it was cheap. Unreal I desided to part with because I will be getting the 360 version next week, so why keep two of the same game when one version is way better?
I ended up using the credit to get a movie as well as put down pre-orders on the 360 version of Unreal as well as:

because all three look awesome. I now have $16 on Civ, meaning I won't owe that much more when it comes out next week. Unreal I will have to wait until my next paycheck for, but that's fine since I'll still be playing all my other stuff.
I also picked up:

Guitar Hero I technically got last night and have gotten through two setlists. It's pretty solid and I will have a review up tomorrow morning. Bourne I am buying off of one of my managers for $27, which is one heck of a deal.
So yeah, even more games to add to my backlog. I seriously need to slow down...
That's all for now.
I just got back from working a 5 and a half hour shift at work. I got called in because we got some extra hours and needed some help to fix up the store (it looked and smelled like crap when I got there) which is great. My shift tomorrow also got extended, so now I will have worked a little less than 40 hours this week. Next week I have 31.5 hours, meaning that my next paycheck will be for almost $500, which is the biggest one I have ever gotten in my life. It's fantastic because now I can replentish my savings (I took a good chunk out to get all of the stuff I just baught) and still have enough to get one or two games and still have some left over for any impromptu spending. I'm happy.
I didn't end up seeing Wall-E because I was working, but that's ok because I needed the money. I'll try to see it later this week.
I also wanted to let you all know that I will be off of Xbox Live tomorrow all day because first, I'm working most of the day and second, I'm doing something interesting when I'm not at work. Oh I'm still going to play stuff, just not on Live.
Anyway, that's all for now.
Here's another quicky update because I need to get some sleep tonight. I was having a light craving for some RTS action, so I was seriously considering picking up:
but after reading several reviews and getting responses from the kind folks down at the Candid Collector's Union, I desided not to pick it up. However, I did get something, and it's one I was planning on getting eventually:

I figured why not? It was only $35 new and it would satisfy my craving, so I added another new one to the collection. I might get to test this out tomorrow, but I will spend most of the day cleaning my house and maybe get some Battlefield or Alone in the Dark in as well. We'll see.
I just purchased my Warped Tour tickets. They cost me $86 for two tickets (I'm bringing my best friend) but I'm sure it will be worth it.
*Update* I totally forgot to post my impressions of:
which I saw last night at midnight. I finished typing this originally at 2 a.m. so I just wanted to finish the blog before realizing I forgot a big part of it. Anyways, Wanted was awesome. It's one of the best crazy action movies to come out in a very long time, probably the best since 300. I compare it in many ways to Shoot 'em Up, which was cheezy fun, but this was so much better it's not even funny. It's a very well done, explosive action movie that has shockingly rocketed to the top of my Best of Summer 2008 list.
Grade: A
Well, I'm getting to bed, so that's all for now.
As my cheesy title suggests, I did pick up my two pre-orders of:

yesterday. I played my Gold Edition of Bad Company almost all night last night and had a blast. It's a excellent shooter with a great and hilarious single player storyline. I beat the first level, which is suprisingly pretty lengthy, and will hopefully finish level 2 before I head off to work. I also unlocked two extra multiplayer weapons in addition to the Gold Edition ones: one for having a Battefield 2: Modern Combat save on my hard drive and the other for pre-ordering the game.
I also tried Alone in the Dark and was disappointed with several aspects. First, the level design was a bit clunky. I had trouble figuring out where I was suppose to go on just the first level. Second, the controls are a bit too stiff. You don't turn very easily in either first or third person view. It also can get quite annoying when you are constantly taken out of first person view when the level starts breaking around you. The visuals are awesome and the idea is really good, but the controls and level design hurt. The other thing is the whole DVD like chapter select. They don't really explain it when you first start, so it's very easy to accidentally skip part of a level and loose an achievement in the process. I'm going back to beat the part I accidentally skipped, but I'm worried that I might have to redo the whole level, which would suck. I'm really hoping the game get's better once I get into Central Park, but my first impressions are a bit rough. I'll hopefully play more of this tonight when I get back from work.
In case everyone wants first glimpse grades, here they are:
Battlefield: Bad Company: 9.5
Alone in the Dark: 6.5
I picked up a couple extra shifts this week at other stores because our district is really lacking in staff due to mass firings. Today I am working an 8 hour shift at one store, then tomorrow a 6 hour shift at an entirely different store. I'm happy because it doubles my weekly hours total, which is definately a plus because I need all the money I can get for school.
While I was at my store yesterday, I also fully paid off:
so I'll be ready to "walk this way" on Sunday. I saw the rumored setlist and it didn't look bad, but there were several Aerosmith gems that were missing.
I am now apparently going to Warped Tour on July 11th with a few friends. I've never really been interested in going before, because I didn't care about most of the bands playing. This year, they have three bands I really like (Anberlin, Relient K, Family Force 5) and I'm a little more interested in some of the other bands. Tickets are $31 a pop, and I'm paying for two, so it will be a pricy event, but it will be worth it.
Alright, well I'd better get back to shooting Russians in Bad Company, so peace out!
