All About Cakolukia
I saw this movie yesterday, and while I never get scared in horror movies, this movie had some dark and gloomy settings that would frighten most people tremendously. The scares were very unconventional, except for the few regular pop-out scenes, but mostly the director relied on what you knew was there that the main actors did not. It worked quite well overall and left me with a chill when the final credits appeared on-screen. I recommend this movie to anyone looking for a change in the horror genre, and not just another Sam Raimi Japanese remake. The Strangers will give you a new take on what horror movies have the possibility of being, not just the same old, processed and overdone ghost stories the American population has come to expect when they hear the words, "Horror Film."
On a scale of 1-10 I give the strangers an 8.0 for having the balls to try something new, and for their innovative ideas paying off. Very well done.
