uncharted 2 multiplayer beta
alright if u have a ps3 and dont have the beta, get it now before its too late. its only a taste of whats to come but is very nice taste! heres why...
Visuals: Probably the best i've ever seen, and thats really saying something considering i played killzone 2 and the original Uncharted. body movement is second to none and the environment is astounding. in the ice cave level your character is covered in snow and their feet sinks in the deep snow. explosions this time round are a lot better. instead of a sphere of orange stuff thats meant to look like an explosion (like uncharted 1) the blast is more realistic, causes the screen to shake and if your characters close enough, they'll wince or shield themselves with their arms. one gripe i do have with the visuals tho is that when u shoot a grenade launcher the propellant ooks like white fire (thats the only way i can describe it
) it wouldnt be a big problem in other games but it sticks out in a game with visuals like uncharted 2, even if it was only a beta.Controls: Although i missed being able to aim a grenade with the motion sensor controller (maybe i can change it?) the controls have overall been improved since the orignal uncharted game. if u have a rifle with a scope you can use the scope but dont neccessarily have to, which is a nice option to have. moving from cover to cover has been introduced and is really useful if u need to move out of the way of a friendly or vice versa.
The actual online: In a word; great. there are many game modes to choose from and although its only 5on5, its intense as hell with plenty of cover to use. you can either be a villain or hero and you can ear money and buy upgrades and other characters with it. oh and if youfeel like reminiscing withyour achievements (or failures) you can watch a replay of your previous matches.the only thing i'll complain about is the servers. sometimes it'll take a long time to find a match but at least its lag free. as well as that u can have your own match on your own and you go around and memorise the maps, thus giving u and advantage.
Overall this is shaping up to be a great multiplayer section to an already great single player campaign. if you miss the beta, you owe it to yourself to buy the full game when it comes out.

Battle of the Boyne site to be disgraced
I know this is kinda stupid to be making a blog like this on Gamespot but I just want to release my anger in a controlled and constructive way. WARNING, this blog may offend the people who claim to be the true rulers of Ireland (ie, Unionists) so if you dont want your little **** to be shocked you may want to **** off now....
Recently, history was made when the an Orange Parade was marched by the so-called "Grand Rulers of Ireland" on Republican Irish soil. This, apparently, was aimed to bring the peoples of the Republic and the North closer. In fact, it has made me think less of them. What right had they, marching on our land? Land owned by the Irish people? What right had they to celebrate a victory that continued opression and lack of freedom in our fair country, and indeed in Britain? This victory for the Prods did not bring prosperity to Ireland, but merely kept the Protestant aristocracy in power!
And now, the Orange order want to rebuild the obelisk built to celebrate the victory for the Prods. And the local council, elected by the people of the Republic of Ireland, are considering rebuilding the obelisk that siginifies the victory of our adversaries on IRISH SOIL! The bastards have no right, no right all, to celebrate their victory which brought us 400 more years of opression on OUR ****ING LAND! That obelisk was knocked down by men who died for the Irish Independence and they want to rebuild the ****ing thing?
Right now, they need to take their heads out of their arses and think about people other than themselves, but I highly doubt they will start doing so now. They have been **** for 500 years why should they stop now? So councillors of Meath, WAKE UP! Say NO to the Orange Order! Thats a word they've never heard of before! After they stop wondering why "the rulers of Ireland" were treated this way, they may start to look in our shoes. That way we can have further co-operation with people of the North! DON'T DISGRACE YOURSELF BY LETTING THOSE ****ERS BUILD THE OBELISK!- Posted Jun 9, 2009 3:17 am GMT
